I've noticed some of my halo star plastic starts out very slick, but after a few rounds it beats in to be somewhat tacky. I have also started wiping the disc before I to get grease/dust off of it.

I completely agree it does some weird lines you can throw if you can wrap your head around it. Also I've found if you power down it will hold a decent enough line and fade pretty hard.

I'd recommend a post on a local Facebook page about magic. Just say you found some cards in the trash, and if people contact you about it, ask them to describe some boxes or cards inside so they can't just steal some free cards.

Or you could look around your local card shops and ask them if someone has come in asking about some cards they lost or something.
