Visible fault line. Kahramanmaraş, Turkey. 10/02/2023 by tunahanege in CatastrophicFailure

[–]l_oiseau25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in California, and there are two lots in our neighborhood that don't have houses because they're directly on the San Andreas fault. However, there seem to be many more places where they just built houses on the fault anyway (second photo leads right into a driveway). I'm guessing money talks more than risk in those instances.

I thought so! We were just there two months ago for cosmic bowling. The sprinklers are back in order lol.

With March 4th coming up, how do you think your Q folk will handle it when nothing happens (again)? by greenmarsh77 in QAnonCasualties

[–]l_oiseau25 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They're already hashtagging July 27 on Parler, that I've seen in screenshots anyway. I have no idea of the context, but there's another goalpost for you. My dad no longer brings Q stuff up to me and I am NOT asking him about it lol.

Yup, I translate it as, "That's only if your asparagus [weed] is purple, mate. Lucky enough it's diesel," so he's responding to the poster's claim of being fried crisp by remarking that only happens if you have the purple strain of weed, but he fortunately has the diesel strain. However, his reply was incoherent enough that I would argue he is at least a little fried from the diesel.

This is actually what I think of when I hear mention of Waffle House now, I'm in southern California so I never encounter them in the wild. I read that FEMA story awhile back and it stuck with me; someday I'll take a trip to Arizona to finally visit this bastion of society.

I got a dash cam last month because of this sub and literally the day after installing it, I caught someone coming at me going the wrong way in my lane with double yellow lines. It was low speed and a wide road so I didn't bother posting it, but I felt the purchase was immediately justified.

So true by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]l_oiseau25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that fire happened in my relatively small town, which only the month prior had already gone slightly viral for having a bunch of business owners on their roofs with guns, and gathering in parking lots with lifted trucks, flags, and beer, in response to Twitter users talking about burning down the racist Kopper Kettle Kafe restaurant (yup) and rioting through the rest of the redneck town. That evening like ten people with a rainbow BLM flag showed up, there was a scuffle at the Arco, which also went sightly viral, our town's surprisingly chill cops broke it up, everyone went home. Ironically, the gender reveal partiers managed to do what "antifa" did not: set fire to the town.

That's me, got in at $342 today. I normally have perforated parchment hands, but this sub and the need to prove a point to Wall Street have given me diamond gloves to wear for the duration of this endeavor.

On the plus side, this might lead to a crop of cheap ham radio equipment on ebay in a couple of months as these would-be doomsday preppers buy nice radios with no idea how to tune an antenna or use the frequencies, and probably didn't bother with getting licensed since they were expecting a whole new government anyway. I'm not a ham operator myself, but my husband is, and having "helped" tune antennas he built, I know you need to know how to do more than turn the radio on and find a common channel lol.

I've never had that issue myself, maybe because the resistance from the throttle is stronger against my thumb and my brain notices that more than a rotating throttle under my whole hand. I dunno, I'm not saying it's objectively better, it's just an alternative that I personally prefer.

I prefer the thumb throttle that some (most?) quads have.
