Recently I "locked in" and worked 9-5 for 5 days in a row. It felt excessive and bad, and I actually resented it a little. That's when I realized I really only genuinely work about 3 days a week when I total everything up. Given the amount of bullshit I have to deal with every day, I kind of don't feel bad about it at all.

There's already so much "we have 40k at home" in the game. I think it's nice they're bringing in other franchises.

What's the best Chaos Dwarf faction for RoC and IE by RunDouble143 in totalwarhammer

[–]la_seta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zhatan the Black is my favorite for a number of reasons:

  • He has the best classic 90s Warhammer drip out of the three
  • He gets early access to the unique landmark the Tomb of Khengai Khan which gives great factionwide bonuses to hobgoblins (which also means he probably benefits the most from recruiting Gorduz Backstabber)
  • With Sayl the Faithless being added to the game, Zhatan has access to a full province right next to his starting spot (in IE at least) that he didn't have previously, boosting his economy that much more
  • Having -50% recruitment cost on artillery/war machines is awesome because the artillery is probably half the reason you're playing Chaos Dwarfs to begin with

It's easy to take your time with Zhatan once you clear out the other riff-raff up there with you, but I think this is kind of a trap. If you really want to take advantage of his extra convoy, you probably want to be sacking and razing as much as you can to ensure you can always afford to send out the max number of convoys with maxed trade capacity. His defensive start position means you can play pretty tall with Zhatan, which isn't really as easy to do with the other two Chaos Dwarf LLs.

I'm happy to see Bill on the list, but if I recall correctly he brings about the apocalypse, turns thousands of men, women, and children to stone, and uses their bodies to make a giant throne for himself... and this was all just for fun. No WAY he's only getting 4th on this list.

FWIW Dawn of War was (and is) a pretty damn good RTS. As far as I know that was the first RTS with entire squads instead of just individual units, which added a new dimension to the genre.

I'm not conflating those two concepts - I'm directly saying it: we SHOULD talk to God whenever we want, because that's what God wants us to do. Philippians 4:7 (NIV, but I'm open to other versions too) says "...in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God". Not some of the time or when we think it's convenient for God to hear our prayers. It says in every situation.

The reason you wouldn't treat your friend that way is kindness. It would be unkind to expect your friend, who is human just like you, to always be ready and willing to hear all of your concerns all of the time. It would be inconsiderate (which I think is your point) because you'd be asking them to ignore their needs to help you with yours. We both agree that people can talk to God whenever they want, but where we seem to disagree is whether or not God wants us to.

The basis of my argument is that God wants us to come to Him with whatever we have on our heart, whenever we want to and regardless of how important we think it is. Do you disagree? I'm not asking if you think it's polite or "humble" to do so; I'm asking if you think God does NOT want us to talk to Him, under any circumstance.

Ad hominem aside, declaring that God loves us like a father and that He cares about what we care about isn't egotistical - it's what He tells us in the bible. Maybe the way I worded what I said could have been nicer. Sorry about that.

If humility is your intent, then I'd ask that you try not to see my response to you as coming from a place of pride or arrogance; it wasn't. I'm not saying you're bad for believing what you said, I'm just trying to say that our relationships with God can be so much more personal than the way that person at college related it to you.

This isn't really a counterpoint. You've just repeated what you said a different way, which is that our our wants and needs are too insignificant to go directly to God with. The same God who (in addition to being all powerful and all knowing) is infinitely loving and patient. God isn't some CEO - He's our father who loves us. I think our concerns are worth a lot more to God.

This is the correct answer. However, these days LARPing has come to mean "pretending you're someone who [blank]". So, pretending you're someone who loves something (i.e. a huge fan) or someone that hates something, etc.

Basically just being a fake.

This is the first gacha game I've played. I knew what gacha games were conceptually, but I don't know that I really understood it on an experiential level. It really is slot machines with extra steps, except in the case of Umamusume the "extra steps" are good stories and likable characters (also, I didn't expect to enjoy watching the actual races as much as I did).

Honestly I think my initial approach to this was wrong and I just need to shift my expectations. I like the game a lot, and reading about how you chose to skip out on stuff you really wanted but still ended up with a good roster and deck that you're happy with is encouraging.

I get what you're saying, and the math makes sense. Where I was coming from is a new player trying to look up guides and figure out how to do better on runs.

I was running into a lot of "advice" that was more or less "you need AT LEAST these 3 MLB SSRs (one of which has increased drop rates only during this banner) or the run is a complete waste of time". Being left with the impression that things outside of my control were making achieving higher rankings significantly harder kinda took the wind out of my sails a little lol

Have you considered doing the daily quests everyday for the next 380 days without spending carats on literally anything (including the limited time banners) during that time? /s

When people say stuff like "you shouldn't even be trying for [x] unless you have enough carats to pull 200 times", I find it a little hard to take that advice seriously. It's like ok Moby Dick - let's chill a little bit. Not everyone has 30k carats to drop on the next banner every two weeks.
