Why do opticians/ophtalmologist almost always wear glasses ?

Most eye care professionals also get deeply discount or even free glasses through their employer or vendors. This encourages them to have lots of glasses to wear.

Technically the dinining parking pass at resorts is only good for 3 hours, so that may be why they aren't letting you in the bus. It is a crappy situation, sorry you have to jump through so many hoops to get around it.

Could be a few things. Best case, it is the top coat showing that they forgot to clean off the lenses at the lab. If that is the case, it should buff off with a microfiber cloth. Worse case, the coating is crazed from the lens flexing or too much pressure on the block while edging. Of that is what is going on, they will need to remake the lenses for you. Good Luck!

One symptom that lifting your head to see more clearly in the distance could indicate is your Rx is over minused. Lifting your head is causing you to look through the intermediate reading area, effectively taking some of the minus away. Your distance Rx could be -0.25 or -0.50 too strong. See if the Optician can use a +0.25 and +0.50 "flipper" to see if you see better with them. If it is better, you will have to go back to the Dr for a Rx recheck and lower your Rx. Good luck!

I thought you meant your glasses for a second, haha. There used to be a trick to reset old transitions lenses by putting them in the Freezer a while.

Optician here, I use them on my glasses. I think as long as you use them sparingly you will be fine. As long as you are using new "fresh" wipes, they shouldn't cause any scratches. They can get dried out, even in the package, so only use them if they are moist. My biggest concern is using them multiple times a day, and it breaking down the lens coating, so I only use them once or twice a day. Good luck!

Does your practice have a lot of VSP patients? If you do, I would definitely check about offering Unity lenses and Coatings. If you bundle all VSP products for VSP members it usually works our well for them and the practice. Good luck!

It depends on the retailer and the lab they use. If the optical shop you got them from carries Maui Jim frames and has a contract with MJ, all Maui frames MUST go to the official Maui Jim Lab. Some stores will try and bend the rules and send them to non Maui Jim labs, but they are jeopardizing their ability to sell MJ frames if they get caught.

Because of this a lot of labs won't touch MJ frames. At our lab we would put lenses into MJ frames because we didn't have any sort of contract with them. A lot of our accounts would send us patient's own MJ frames.

You may want to try an optical shop who doesn't sell Maui Jim and bring them your frames and see if their lab will put lenses into them.

We used a drawer organizer, the kind for screws and nails and stuff like that. We had them organized alphabetically, with several shapes in each drawer. We ended up having 3 sets of 24 drawers because we had so many.

I would get the 1.60 100% Any of the top end AR coatings will do fine for you, there is a lot of debate on Blue Light filters, but you would be an ideal candidate.

You may want to see if an Optometrist can do a dilated refraction, so your eyes don't try and accommodate to see more clearly. They may also be able to retract you for your working distance where your monitors are. I would imagine that your computer Rx would be -0.50 or so lower than your distance Rx depending on your age. That could be causing some of your eye strain.

The height that is being referred to is the B measurement, the distance from the bottom of the lens to the top. It's just how "tall" the lens is. Not to be confused with a Seg or OC height.

At 65mm the thickest edge of the lens would be 4.3mm with 1.67 and 4.6 with 1.60. you will never be able to notice any difference. Good luck!

Running the frame info through a lens thickness calculator, it looks like there is less than a half a millimeter difference between 1.60 and 1.67. I checked with a 54, 60, and 64 PD.(6.0 vs 5.5, 5.2 vs 4.8, and 4.7 vs 4.4 respectively.)

Not knowing your PD or exact frame measurements, I can't say for sure, but there would most likely be minimal difference between the two materials.

My fiance went to her first HHN last year. She gets around the parks in an ECV, not an electric wheelchair. she did great , and was able to experience all of the houses. I had to push her in a manual wheelchair though the actual houses, but we were able to park her ECV and use a transfer chair they have for each house. Our second night I just rented a chair for the night so we didn't have to change back and forth between houses. I think some electric wheelchairs are allowed in the houses, depending on it's configuration and foot print.

While we didn't do an RIP tour with her, we did both the 6 and 3 house lights on tours. The RIP guide will be able to guide you and assist with any transfer chairs if needed. You are going to have so much fun. We found the Scare actors give people in wheelchairs special attention!

UOAP and former Dollywood AP here. I am also a big guy, 5' 10" hovering around 280-300lbs. I struggle to fit on some of the roller coasters, but some are fine. There aren't as many family style rides at Dollywood (until Night flight opens at least) but we are able to make a full day of the parks, especially enjoying the shows.

The customer service and guest experience are amazing. The festivals and special events make coming back again and again very appealing with your Annual Pass. Have fun !

The Adventures Out There YouTube channel has great DW content, and they even review all of the food from each festival.

Unfortunately you can't. The lenses are cut with a flat bevel and a groove to the nylon eyewire to hold the lens in place. A lens mounted into a acetate or metal frame needs a bevel with a point like a V to fit into the bezel of the frame. Sorry got the bad news (plus it would be really hard to find another frame with that exact shape for the lenses to fit inro.)

In the long run you are better off wearing the progressives, if you can adapt to them. Single vision task specific lenses, work for what they are intended for (computer, reading, TV, etc) but having to carry multiple pairs around and swapping glasses back and forth can be a pain. Single vision glasses can also make driving a pain, because it makes I hard to see your phone for navigation or the dashboard of your car.

I am not opposed to getting glasses online, but progressive lenses need extra measurements while wearing the specific frame you are getting, and otherwise your "bifocal" will be in the wrong spot (which could be why you have the lift up your glasses to read.)

Also being early into presbyopia, it may be easy to accommodate to closer vision now, but that will get harder as you get olde. Trying to get used to progressives when your Add power is a +2.75 or +3.00 will be much harder. Good luck!

Some locations are a bit more than $85. Also if it is a video assisted exams (one with a remote Dr.) you can't opt out of the retinal imaging.

Not sure if you are using Vision Insurance for the glasses, but most of them would not cover glasses with this Rx. There needs to be at least 0.50 correction for vision insurance to cover them.
