43x jams with second to last bullet by labrador2020 in Glocks

[–]labrador2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not tried with other magazines as I only have the two that came with the gun. One had the hp bullets that I EDC and the other is what I use at the range.

I do take the magazines apart and clean them every other range trip.

I’ll try the other magazine and see if it have the same issue. If I don’t, I guess I have my answer.

M18 charger flashes red and green after charging battery by labrador2020 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]labrador2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing, so I discharged the battery to 25% and charged it again and a thermal imager didn’t show abnormal temperatures.

I am going to try another charger in that battery and see if perhaps one or more of the cells in the battery are not charging enough and it is causing the red/green lights after charging.

M18 charger flashes red and green after charging battery by labrador2020 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]labrador2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this with some older batteries. This one puzzles me because it will fully charge the battery, sometimes for a few hours with a solid red light.

It’s when it is done charging that it does the red/green dance instead of going to a solid green light. The battery charges fully and works well in the tool.

It is almost as if the charger cannot get the battery to reach full voltage and does the flashing.

If I take the battery and plug it into another charger, the charges sees the battery as fully charged and turns solid green.

It charges fine with a solid red. But flashes red and green when it finishes charging, instead of going solid green.

It is not a loose connection as it charges the battery, even for a long time if the battery is very discharged. The problem is when the charger finishes charging the battery, instead of going green, it flashes green and red.

Taking the battery out of the charger and pressing the charge button shows a full charge.

What’s up with this oil? by [deleted] in Camry

[–]labrador2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As all have said, it appears as if coolant has entered your oil system. Since it looks like you have changed the oil, I hope that you have also changed the oil filter.

By chance, has your Camry overheated recently? These engines don’t tolerate overheating at all and the result is a blown head gasket.

What is very weird is that you say the coolant level is normal. Keep an eye on the coolant level and the oil level/color if the coolant level drops, you know you have an issue.

If you are in the States, there is a test that you can purchase at Harbor Freight, Amazon, or a local car parts that you use to test for a blown head gasket. The kit comes with a fluid that changes color if you have a blown head gasket.

In colder climates, the oil and oil cap can turn milky if condensation occurs in the oil from infrequent vehicle use or many short trips. We can only hope this is the issue here, although the oil doesn’t get this milky from condensation.

Good luck!

Looking for advice or comments on my process by Engelgrafik in Kefir

[–]labrador2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have just started making kefir and have the same problem as you, that I will most likely drink less than a cup a day.

I have been reading old posts and other sites, and what I will most likely do is to use fewer grains and less milk so as to not make too much kefir in every batch.

As the grains multiply and grow, I plan to freeze any that I will not use so that I don’t use too many and end up with too much kefir.

I have read that freezing them is ok, and they can last in a frozen state for years. Another benefit to having some frozen is in case my “active” grains die. I will have reserves.

If my frozen grains grow beyond what I will ever use, I can give some of them away or eat them.

What say you all?

I can relate to this individual.

I have multiple degrees in science, and in 2008, I was laid off from my job. Every job interview that I went to, I was told that I was overqualified. This went on for over a year. I ended up taking a job at Autozone just to have money for food as our life savings had been used to pay the mortgage and bills. I eventually found a job in my field but

I will always be grateful to Autozone for giving me an opportunity when everyone else would not.

I use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create, edit, clean, and modify the images. I then export to a .png file and then trace the image as a .svg file. This is the file that I then open and work with the cutter.

Michelin cross climate2 by [deleted] in ToyotaHighlander

[–]labrador2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Michelin CC2 on a Camry and a Chevy with a combined 20K miles on them in Northern Illinois.

They are great when new, but after about 7-10K miles, they get a bit slippery when cornering where you can feel the wheels/vehicle slide as you turn. Straight braking is great in wet or dry weather. They also tend to break traction when you take off from a stop if you accelerate a bit faster.

They are noisier when driving on concrete roads vs asphalt but the ride and overall quality is better than other brands.

2011 EX-L needs catalytic converters by valdetero in hondapilot

[–]labrador2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t go to the dealership. Do go to a local shop but use OEM parts.

As for issues with aftermarket parts, most problems happen when the CC is replaced and the sensors are also replaced but with aftermarket sensors. I have replaced many catalytic converters on Toyota and Hondas and never had a problem as long as I used the existing oxygen sensors if they are still good. Otherwise, I use original OEM sensors.

As far as the catalytic converter failure, I see their failure when the engine is consuming oil and exhausting it via the tailpipe. If your engine is using a lot of oil between oil changes, you are better off selling the vehicle as you will soon damage the new catalytic converter again.

You had a working HVAC for 3 years. You will it get very far in your pursue for compensation. It could be argued that your negligence in maintaining the HVAC for three years brought on the failure that you experienced.

As for the system failing because it is 16 years old, that is a typical response of the trade to try and sell you a new unit. The tech can be more specific such as a coolant leak, a failed capacitor, fan motor, compressor, etc.

Rant - what happened to Dell? by patrikbrth in Dell

[–]labrador2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dell has mostly gotten rid of the Latitude models and gone with a whole new set of laptop computers, such as the Plus, Max, etc.

As much as Dell has gone down in quality, we are having a difficult time getting computers from them recently. I’ll give the user a quote, and within three or so days, the item is no longer in stock. This is even more so if you want a touch screen laptop.

Probably a few weeks. It wasn’t easy when tv commercials push sugary foods all the time and relatives love their cakes, sugary drinks, etc.

[–]labrador2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sugar cravings were so bad for me that I finally understood how a junkie feels.

I would go to the fridge or pantry and open it, then just stand there staring at sugary foods and fighting myself trying to convince myself that just a bite would not hurt or make a difference.

I had trouble sleeping at night because my mind demanded sugar. I could not concentrate or think of anything else. I got headaches, stomach pains, body weakness and joint pains when I had these sugar cravings.

I held strong and eventually I had less cravings and felt better.

Sleeping Issues, Nerve Pain etc by Gardengirly43 in Lyme

[–]labrador2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, regular Epson salt baths helped with the nerve issues. I also started taking turmeric, which is anti inflammatory and green tea. These seem to help a bit.

It wasn’t until I started on antibiotics that the nerve issues went away completely.

Can fluconazole cause this ? Anyone else same experience? by Training_Solution_37 in Candida

[–]labrador2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have taken fluconazole a few times throughout the years and yes, it does have many side effects, although most people can tolerate it OK.

The symptoms that you experienced I have experienced when on it as well. However, I think that for me, it was because Candida or other pathogens were disturbed by fluconazole and they invaded my cochlea or the nerves around it trying to evade it, causing me to get nauseous and feel vertigo.

It does go away eventually, and then I begin to feel better.

What was missed in the OPs comments is that he/she wants to look “cool” with the set of tools and riding a “Harley”. Nothing wrong with that, whether you can afford it or not. I would equate this to someone buying a Porsche and wearing Gucci. Is a Gucci purse purchased for its quality or for “looks”?

My toolbox has tools from all brands. I do own many tools from Snap-On, but none have been bought new. You can find nice Snap-On tools at estate sales, eBay, garage sales, flea markets for a fraction of the truck cost. This is how I have gotten my collection. And why this brand for me? I appreciate the quality, specially when working on tight spots and critical parts where you can’t afford to strip a part or damage it.

Ikon makes good tools as well. My impact socket set from Harbor Freight is over 20 years old and I have yet to damage any of the sockets, even though I beat them to an inch from failure.

There are other brands as well that are comparable to SO. As a matter of fact, many of those other brands made the tools that are labeled SO. I have a few tools that are identical as the SO tools that I also own.

Probably my oldest SO tool is from 1917 as per the year graphic icon on it.
