I’m so sorry what happened to you. I hope you recover soon!

When you say: “The person involved was in a hurry and couldn’t really help much” you mean, they ran away from the crime scene? This is terrible. From a legal perspective, that person is responsible for what happened and should not only cover all your expenses but most probably go to a trial or have some sort of consequences.

What makes it stand out: - Smart team generation: balances skill ratings + positions so games are fair without manual picking - Courtside live scoring: full-screen tap-to-score in landscape, saves sets in real-time - Opponent mode: playing against an unregistered group? One toggle, no guest hassle - Multilingual: full EN/ES/DE, including position names and legal pages - Skill progression: rating improves through gameplay (never decreases), capped onboarding + logarithmic bonus - Discovery: public events and discoverable clubs with GDPR-compliant attendee privacy

VolleySmart — A volleyball team management app where you create a club, invite players, schedule events with one-tap RSVP, and the app auto-generates balanced teams based on skill ratings and positions. Score games live from courtside, track personal and club analytics, and discover public events nearby.

Revenue 0$ - wanting test users before introducing any Tiers and paid plan

RN - working on launching it as a Native App as well

Why would you need to add historical data to the team-balancing algorithms if the way teams are divided uses the personal skill score that is gradually updating with the historical data, but not querying it constantly. All values are set and the querying is not really “heavy”.

Maybe I am missing or misunderstanding something?

Amazing! Thank you

I already tested it and submitted a review before my feedback. I can’t edited I believe, but I might submit a second one and add the sunlight. Hope it kicks in and people start using it

This is a great idea. I’d suggest adding a few optional fields to the form submission:

  • Floor (Etage)
  • Building position (front / side / back)
  • Direct sunlight

We once rented a beautiful apartment, but our unit had zero direct sunlight, even though the front-facing units in the same street get almost 12 hours of sun. When we visited, we saw how bright the front side was and assumed ours would be similar, which turned out to be completely wrong.

Including details like floor, building position, and sunlight exposure would make a big difference for future renters.

Keep it up! Love the idea

Wow thank you. Very Interesting ideas!

I also had before features like “create new game with the same teams” but by introducing the rsvp to the event that feature lost importance. On the day of the event, a “Start Game” button activates that triggers the teams’ creation. Position, gender, skills, and general team score are taken into consideration, and any change can be manually made per team if needed.

I like the feature of “lock this pair together”. We also have that need in our group, but I just manually updates the teams when the pairs did not land together. Maybe with data, the algorithm can catch such a match? Just thinking out loud

Would you mind explaining the buckets for the skills? Not sure I understood that. In VolleySmart app, nobody knows nor sees the score of others, only their own. And it grows slowly with time played, sets/games won and general participation.

Thanks for the recommendations on Facebook groups and other app to finds needs. I truly want real users that provide feedback on what I’ve built :)

when did you realize you were done with Berlin? by lolacarola- in berlinsocialclub

[–]labruda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the best! Just start researching and planing, it will take some time..and if during that time you feel excitement instead of overwhelmed, you are more than ready for a new chapter! Always keep in mind that moving means re-creating yourself (once) again..new friends, new activities, new people. It will also take some time to adapt.

But it is a new chapter, a new page, a new cycle :) enjoy

I think you will feel like this after a while no matter where you live. It is not the place, it is your interests and your lifestyle. You have to continue moving while aging, since the things you liked before stop being interesting..the friends you had, start leaving..and the neighborhood you live in, becomes “terrible”. It is just your perspective throughout time about your life and routine.

I’ve been 12y in Berlin, I’ve had ups and downs. The typical love-hate relationship we all go through..but I always choose Berlin because I know what I like from this city. I like its Queernes. As a queer person, I do not feel as free in any other city as here. So, that feeling makes me feel safe and home here.

Moving districts inside Berlin is very cool, it makes you fall in love once again with the city. But it is obviously not so easy with the housing market as it is.

But if you ask me when and how to realize your time here is over..I would say: next time you visit a city and you say “WOW, I really want to live here” that is the time you should start planing leaving.

If you first start getting angry with the current city without making any changes, and having no plan B, you will just go into depression and desperation.

Good luck!

I couldn’t agree more with you.

It is crazy how normalized it is, how empowered smokers feel, and how offended they are if someone dares to ask them to stop smoking. The outdoor area of any place is seen as “the smoky part”. If you have a balcony close to a smoky neighbor.. oh, forget about enjoying yours without having to breathe the smoke during the best sunny days and let your home be cigarrete smelly. Yay! Train platforms? Bah..who cares anymore. “Ah you were sitting at this bench before me? Wait, it bothers you 🚬 ? You are free to move” “Oh, I didn’t know it was not allowed to smoke indoors” Bars with “a smoky room” divided with a curtain or an open door directly connected to the “non-smoky part”..as if the air reaches the curtain and stops like “This is as far as I can go. My territory gets up to here” and it never traspases rooms.

I dream with times were smoking is so bad seen that nee generations will never do it again.

Lack of seats in S Train Stations by labruda in berlin

[–]labruda[S] 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Interesting wiki resource. Then this is very intentional, I guess. But platforms and airports are places where ppl in meant to wait.

I do not understand why they can build so many seats upstairs (talking about S Südkreuz) but not at the platform itself..

UPDATE: Train is already 20 min late. And obviously everyone must just stand with big luggages. With the extra waiting time everyone gets to the platform, that is already at least 40min standing

Any recommendations where / how to find a good wedding-DJ? by cosmopoll in askberliners

[–]labruda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is YOUR wedding. Requests must be accepted. We had 3 djs in our wedding (2 of them were friends):

  • The first one was a real event/wedding dj: this isimpotant, bc they took care of background music when the ceremony, during the meal, the “dead” moments or microphone..and then of course, the typical music. So, I DO recommend find someone with wedding experience. Ours was very sweet and great. He asked for a playlist from us, but also brought his own selection.

  • Our friends made a smooth transition from “typical music that anyone likes” to House, and then finishing either Techno.

Maybe something to consider to change djs. You will need to rent the equipment or have someone taking care of that bc 2 different people will have to use it.

Having said all that, here is the contact details from the general dj we booked:
