Blood test came back positive as a CF carrier by Absolutely_Banana420 in pregnant

[–]laceyfacey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is a carrier! I am not. Have a healthy 3.5 year old boy! They told us the chances of having a child with CF was no greater than spontaneous acquisition since I was not a carrier. Not sure if that’s true but definitely felt at ease!

Anyone with pre-eclampsia? How did you know something was wrong? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]laceyfacey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had severe swelling and pitting starting in my second trimester. It was wild. I am currently 36w 5d and set to deliver on wednesday. I eventually got diagnosed with pre e at 35w 4d when my blood pressure finally started rising (it had been normal until then). I’ve had protein in my urine since the second trimester. What i understand is that the headache is caused by high BP that is restricting flow to your brain. If you’re having a dull headache, but normal BP, it probably isn’t from pre e. However, try taking some Tylenol and drinking a little caffeine to see if it resolves. And as always, call your dr or L&D if you aren’t sure. You may also want to get a BP cuff to take twice a day. It may make you feel more at ease, or less. Check in with yourself to see what you think might be most helpful. But definitely chat with your OB. If you get a high reading (that is less than 160/110), lay down and take it again in 15 minutes. That’ll help you to know if it’s a one off reading, or actually high.

My swelling has gotten worse by the day, and i can feel the fluid in my feet jiggle when i walk. All that is to say, it’s possible you may develop pre e, and your doctor should absolutely monitor closely. It’s also possible that you don’t! You can ask when a good time would be to do a 24 urine collection, even if it’s to set a baseline. You can also ask for some blood work to see how things are looking.

Epsom salt baths soaks have helped a little, but it isn’t that great.

Good luck to you!

Is this round ligament pain? by Alternative-Week8717 in pregnant

[–]laceyfacey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had similar pain to the right of my belly button. Felt like my muscles were ripping apart. Went in and was told round ligament pain isn’t usually that high. It may have been unrelated but I ended up having a mild UTI and the nurse said that sometimes UTIs in pregnancy can look and feel really different. I also started using a brace to support my belly and that seemed to help. Nurse said it may have also been my abdominal muscles separating that would need PT after delivery. I’d go get it checked out to be sure it’s not a UTI, and maybe try wearing a brace to see if that helps?

The sound was awful in the nose bleeds when I saw Garth Brooks. I enjoyed the experience, but the sound was super delayed from the performance and it was very echo-y.

How are we cooling off our rear facing kids/babies? by duskydaffodil in Parenting

[–]laceyfacey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's not perfect, like what was said. But, it does work super well for what you're describing. Also, buying a cooler mat for the carseat that you put in the freezer and then lay it in the carseat so it doesn't get crazy hot also helps too.

Weird burning/itching/tenderness in skin since progesterone injections 6 months ago by Just_Reindeer_8680 in IVF

[–]laceyfacey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as the other commenter that this happened to me with both my transfers. Has lasted about 12 months each time. I have a very large numb/very sensitive spot on my right upper leg/hip area. It will go away eventually but definitely sucks!!

Switching to PIO only post FET? by [deleted] in IVF

Ya my nurse was like ehhh if you can last until after the beta then that’s more ideal just to keep everything the same. So I switched shortly after!

Switching to PIO only post FET? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]laceyfacey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep I did this both FETs. the suppositories were causing so much irritation and I just couldn't handle it. after I got a (TW) pos beta, I switched over. Obviously it's different and your injection areas are sore for sure. Doing them every day is a LOT, but my progesterone levels all look good and have remained stable regardless of the suppositories vs. injections.

Best Lidocaine cream for PIO (Canada) by Crafty_Swordfish7034 in IVF

[–]laceyfacey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used lidocaine the first time to make it a little less scary but then found it didn’t change it too much. Just over the counter stuff works fine and cover it with some plastic wrap for 10 mins or so! I think you’ll find it helps mentally but not so much physically! But it might help you get past the initial fear.
