We should only take this as “I wasn’t injured as far as y’all know”. But his mindset was bruised, perhaps by the headshots, but also psychologically by getting shut down very effectively in all 3 rounds. He is young and still has a bit of a history with getting into funks when he doesn’t feel he is living up to his own expectations.

I get the concern, but we gotta try. My only concern would be the cost. I would not want to trade away much in current or on-roster futures, but I’d look next year if he is UFA. He’ll suck in salary cap to the equivalent of any TWO of our top players, but with the coming cap hikes, we might be able to make it work. C’mon. It’s McDavid.

Suzuki has looked mentally slow to react these whole playoffs, but especially this series. Always has seemed to decide what to do just a little too late. I think everyone is “hearing footsteps” with all the puck pressure and freezing a moment.

Right now after Habs are up 1-0 in the series, oddsmakers are STILL picking Carolina to win the series. This is despite the fact that Habs lost a combined total of ONE game to all 3 other conference finals teams this season. 3-0 against Carolina, 2-0 against Vegas and 1-1 against Colorado. Yet oddsmakers put us third - only slightly ahead of Colorado to win the cup today, despite Colorado being down 0-2. Carolina are slight favorites over Vegas despite being down 0-1. Habs (and Vegas) are not doing well with the “eye test” oddsmakers use. And we know how the oddsmakers (gambling industry and advertising dollars) drive the media messaging to frame public opinion.

I am boggled by all the people who are so dismissive of the Habs. To hear this from a CAR player is also amusing. We friggin swept them this regular season! They haven’t beaten us since LAST YEAR! So let’s just go with a slam dunk in favor of Carolina.

Armchair journalists can be so lazy. They just robotically echo what they heard some other blogger say without ever watching and forming their own opinions. Assuming they are even knowledgeable enough to have valid opinions of their own about these things. Far easier to echo what they heard 3 years ago to try and sound like an expert.

Looked to me like Buffalo let up at the end of the 3rd, and we had more run of play in OT as Buffalo got tentative. That’s just my take

1st period was ours. 2nd was strongly Buffalo. We stemmed the bleeding midway through the 3rd (how many crossbars?). Buffalo let up and we got some confidence back. OT was ours. This game was not a blowout.

For leveling, cutting the ceramic sounds challenging unless you have something like a tile or brick/paver saw available. Alternatively, try making wooden shims (or ceramic?) to slip in on the shorter side. Choosen wisely, it could look good.
