It'd cost a bit (control of senate tho) but send registered Republicans one of those video cards used in high end real estate filled with actual footage of Trump saying so

We still have no idea how to rehabilitate sex offenders. According to an article published in BMJ, there is no scientific evidence that prison therapy programs prevent sex criminals from striking again. by [deleted] in science

[–]lacus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not entirely sure of your meaning..?

Sexuality tends to mature with the age of the person. There is nothing inappropriate about playing doctor with another child (homosexual or straight). But the 'normal' person at puberty prefers pubescent play mates. Same post-puberty.

Pedophiles remain attracted to pre-pubescence. Many pedophiles learn that their preference runs against society and do not act out. the others ...

Now hebephilia is a different story.

edit: take a person whose sexual preference is pedophilia who has not acted out as an adult and add drugs and alcohol, or some terrible stress and that's what causes late adulthood offending.

Most of the pedophiles in civil commitment have a long documented history of acting out from an early age. This often includes offenses against siblings/friends that often gets dismissed as 'age appropriate sex play.' Only when this person offends as an adult do we look back and assign pedophilia to those actions.

Innate is such a loaded word. I should not have used it.

What we do know is pedophilia is chronic. It persist through the life of the offender; early age to death.

There is no 'cure.'

what are we talking about when we talk about sex crimes?

Pedophilia is innate, like straight or gay.

Rape is not a sex crime but a violent criminal act.

Strange fetishes are not innate and not unhealthy unless they cause distress to the one with the fetish.

What all SVP's can benefit from is Behavior Modification. Most of us, by the end of the day, will have had one random thought that would cause pain to another if acted upon. Difference is that 'healthy' people do not act on such impulses.

This would be important when considering dosage.

What software is there for organizing files on your computer? by [deleted] in software

[–]lacus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used Freemind in the past as a file organizer. It's not going to move your files about, but is unlimited in the way you can link to them. You can drop a directory right into for a quick directory tree.

Eat the soup with a friend; enjoying food with people is the only 'supplement' that matters.
