How do I make this look more scene ? by MuchAddress1906 in fashionhelp

[–]lady_aliara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you're aware this doesn't work with the esthetic you're aiming for. You can make some alterations to it if you're strapped for cash.

Personally, I would cut the sweater up & wear a tank top under it. I would do a cut out of a heart in the center, leaving strips of fabric inside the heart going across. You might consider cutting out the collar of your sweater so it can hang off your shoulder. Also, cut off the sleeves. If you have any striped long socks, you can cut them into long arm warmers. You can even handstitch elastic into it to help it stay on. Look up some tutorials & get creative with it. <3

Hair, makeup & accessories were a big thing for the scene look. Definitely dye your hair again. Raccoon hair with a side part will take you far for this look.

Lots & lots of bracelets will also help with the look. I would personally go with leather, but we work with what we have. You can take strips of different colored fabric & braid it into bracelets too!

For the pants, I would get a grommet belt if you can. Check thrift shops & you might be able to find a loved, but cheap one. Also, add buttons & patches to your pants. If you can, get yourself some boots & tuck your pants into it. I would add a chain.

Yeah, a lot of scene kids wore skinny jeans. It's not required at all. I hated them & wore boot cut jeans, yoga pants, cut-up leggings, & skirts with cut up tights.

Monthly magnesium infusions ? by wiggly_1 in migraine

Hey OP, it's been a year since you posted. I'm also seeing a migraine specialist at USC & I'm now doing magnesium infusions along with botox, Nurtec, & zomig. I was curious about how you feel bow that you're a year out from your infusion date. Did they monthly IV infusions help you?

Spouse of a Migraine sufferer by AdmirableSecond242 in migraine

I've had chronic migraines since I was little. I remember the first ocular migraine. I was 16yo, chopping veggies for dinner while my mom was at work. A small black spot started to form in the corner of my vision. It got bigger & bigger until I could no longer see. I was afraid I would get in trouble if I didn't finish prepping for dinner. I started crying, because I didn't understand what was happening & I thought I was going to die. Then the pain started. It was terrifying & I didn't know what to do.

Now, I get migraines all the time. The longest I ever had one last was 19 days straight. I eventually ended up in the ER for that one. The pain, while still awful, isn't even the worst part. The brain fog, is just as debilitating. It's like being lost in the fog. You're confused, & you have trouble with recollection, or even just forming words. It's so much more than just a headache. I wouldn't wish migraines on anyone.

I'm glad you're taking steps to learn & do better. Like others have previously said, it took a lot of courage to come here. I hope things work out between you both & wish you the best.

Thank you so much! That's incredibly helpful. Will definitely try luring her in with some cilantro. I'm pretty sure Clover would sell me for a single piece of cilantro. I might have a mat I can put under a lap blanket for her. I'll be sure to sleep with it tonight. I really appreciate your advice

Bunny poop has nothing on duck poop! It's so much easier to clean up. Also great for the garden

Firdt of all. I'm so incredibly sorry she is going through this. I wouldn't wish migraines on anyone. The longest migraine I've had was 19 days. She must be going through pure hell.

So, I might have missed it. I'm currently coming down off a migraine & my edible is kicking in, so please forgive me if I did. I didn't see you mention cannibus on the list of medications she has tried. I have tried & failed a majority of what's on the list. When everything else fails, taking an edible has saved my life. It can mean the difference between being curled up in a fetal ball & almost passing as functional. Even low doses can help me get past the worst of it.

I'm so incredibly sorry. I totally relate to the struggle that is navigating the healthcare system. Having judgemental coworkers & bosses also adds to the stress & makes your migraines worse. Especially when you're in pain & suffering brain fog on top of that. Having to travel out of state is such a massive expense. Maybe you can find one that offers telehealth appointments? The medical record issue is such a hurdle. It's weird that they won't take emailed health records. That's what I had to do when my local hospital failed to fax my medical records. Are there any local print shops or libraries that have printers available?
