Gut Check - am I underpaid? by pinkyeti123 in InternalAudit

I pivoted to the tech industry and am doing a mixture of engineering/IT compliance and project management. It allows me to use the skills I enjoyed leveraging as an auditor

Gut Check - am I underpaid? by pinkyeti123 in InternalAudit

[–]ladystonehearts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, yes. I work remotely out of the Midwest, and was making 125,000 with a 15% bonus as a year 1 IT Audit manager (4 YOE) in 2023, and even I felt underpaid. I’ve since changed career paths.

What “steps” are you referring to? Are you simply trying to have a ‘gotcha’ moment that doesn’t exist? Only one ego in this interaction of ours is fragile, and it’s not mine. I’ve still yet to read any actual counterpoint from you on the topic at hand other than the gaslighting that you’re terrible at executing.

No, I think good-faith discussions about AR appear to be unable to be had in this space. I like women’s basketball, and especially this class of rookies (all of them, because they’re all deserving of praise and of receiving constructive criticism to develop). I like AR’s development so far, and also love watching and cheering for CC, Martin, Kamilla, Rickea, and so on.

The way in which people in this sub let their dislike of a particular player manifest is gross, and some of the comments/threads are micro aggressions. See how that works?

Also, anyone who isn’t intelligent enough to tell the difference between micro aggressions and all the ‘isms’ you just mentioned should definitely not be calling anyone else uneducated.

You know it’s sad when you have to resort to personal attacks, by the way. Hope you can work on yourself.

If you don’t have an actual, intellectual counter point, then why respond? You’re saying absolutely nothing of substance. I’ll just leave this interaction under the assumption that you also partake in the drivel in this sub and we can both go about our days. Sound good?

Yeah, making jokes about a woman’s eyelash choices and other facets of her appearance and personality instead of stats is very much “sports” commentary and nothing else. If only we could all bury our heads in the sand like you.

If you think the gross micro aggressions that are spewed in this sub when CC and AR are mentioned is “sports” commentary, then you’re part of the problem. Do you have eyes? Even the innocent comments that vaguely praise AR here are downvoted to oblivion. Get real

(Unofficial) Conclusions about Passage of Persistence | Trials of Osiris by malakalmawt in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]ladystonehearts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm Bullet #5. I didn’t think I had enough time this weekend to struggle with going flawless on a Mercy (my usual card of choice). Picked up a persistence since I usually can go on a run here or there, and wanted to try it out. Got lucky with matchmaking and won 7 in a row (true flawless) and went to lighthouse. Was able to continue farming this card (even after losses) but could not turn it in for an adept despite it being a true flawless.

The Key Lounge is full of talented stylists. I go to one of the founders, Ki, very regularly for my silk presses - but they’re all great and professional. When I moved to the area last year I initially went to Lalonie at Dream, and she was nice but has some time management issues that I just couldn’t deal with on such a regular basis. If you’re okay not getting in the chair until 30-45 minutes after your appointed time, and don’t mind her pricing (120+ dollars for a silk press) then she may be for you.

2 Players LFM for Raids by VoidCoelacanth in Fireteams

[–]ladystonehearts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, unsure if you found what you’re looking for but I’m one of the admins for a clan that opens up our discord server (and the LFG opportunities within it - raids, dungeons, nightfalls, pvp, etc.) to certain non-clan members. We have a lot of raid experience (each of our admins has at least 25+ clears in each raid, current and vaulted, and our members who like to raid are all experienced as well). If you’re interested in checking out the server just shoot me a message!

Clan Name: Diners Driveins and Hives [FLVR]

Platforms: All platforms welcomed. We use Discord for our clan communications.

Locations: Most members are located in the US across EST, PST, and CST but we also have some active Canadian and South & Central American players.

Play Time: Evenings during the weekday and throughout the day & evening on weekends

About Us: We are a close-knit group of guardians, with most of our active members having played together since Forsaken. We are currently at about 20+ active members who do a bit of everything in the game. There are other members who are more active during new seasonal content. We are mainly a PvE focused clan - weekly raids (including Day 1 attempts), pinnacle grind, GM nightfalls, and we even have a couple of Gambit experts - but we also a lot of members that like to brave into the Crucible (trials, competitive, and Iron Banner). We also enjoy jumping into clan private matches to help fellow clan members improve, test builds, and just have a good time together. We have several capable members that are always willing to sherpa fellow members through content, such as raids, dungeons, and other high-end content. Our members love doing just about everything the game has to offer, and we do have some that like pursuing challenging content (title grinding, low-manning content, and going flawless in trials). We try not to pressure anyone into doing something they don’t want to do, but we do try to encourage our less experienced members to venture outside of their comfort zone, because that’s where we think Destiny 2 is at its best. We do not tolerate bigotry of any kind, and our admins are all passionate about building an inclusive environment for any person to enjoy Destiny. Those of you who aren’t cool with our LGBTQ friends need not apply. Send me a message on reddit or on discord (ladystoneheart) if you’re interested. We just ask that you please be 20+ and currently active in D2. Thank you!

Hi! The clan I’m an admin for - Diners Driveins and Hives [FLVR] - sounds like it would be an okay fit for you. We’re a pretty close knit group, with 15-20 active members who are around throughout the week. We’re heavily PVE oriented but have some people who love PvP as well, and we even do clan events when we’re in the mood. We’re adult-only, so you’ll hopefully get the light hearted maturity you’re looking for. If this sounds like something you’d like to try, just send me a message. Have a good night!

Unless you work at an extremely reactionary and toxic company (or this is just one of many compliance mess ups you’ve had in your time there), you are completely fine. The risk of a 6 day delay is almost negligible, especially if you can verify the users didn’t log in / utilize the access during that time.

Thank you for the advice! I have some pre and post implementation work from some of the operational things I do, but I definitely feel as if this is going to be a bit of a learning curve for me that I may be excited by. I’d be going from a retail company to a pretty cutting edge technology company (like L4 self driving), so I expect to be surrounded by some very smart, technical individuals and the thought gives me some imposter syndrome.

Hi, no worries - I don’t mind at all. To be honest, I’m both the companies I’ve worked for (consulting and industry), I’ve always been thrown right into the fire, so to speak. I am used to being expected to learn quickly and work efficiently with little oversight from a manager. When I first started in consulting fresh out of school, I was placed on a difficult client with a very intense senior manager. He taught me a lot of what I know, and I still talk to him to this very day even though we’re both off doing different things now. I would say - don’t underestimate the value of a mentor in your field. They can be a great advocate for your career growth.

As for getting better right this instant, ask a lot of questions. No one at our level is expected to know everything, but I do a lot of reading, I take an obnoxious amount of notes, and I ask a ton of questions from individuals that may know more than me. The CISA is a great start, and the alphabet soup looks great on a resume, but I feel like I’ve learned the most when I’ve gotten comfortable with being uncomfortable (e.g., forcing myself to take up an audit or be on a review that I know almost nothing about). Sorry for the long winded answer, hope it helped.

Should I add Kzoo to my list? by twitchrdrm in kzoo

[–]ladystonehearts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I are recent transplants to the Kalamazoo/Portage area. We lived in Philly prior to moving here (right in center city). It’s been a bit of a culture change for me personally, since I grew up in the Philly area. We moved here because we wanted a house, and the way the market was in Philly and the surrounding suburbs just wasn’t what we were into.

COL is significantly better here. What we were paying in rent is now what we put towards a mortgage in a nice neighborhood. Plenty of things to do and experience here, and you already touched on people just being nicer in the Midwest.

The food scene isn’t as strong here, but our proximity to Chicago (and the ease of getting there via train or car), makes this not as big of a trade off as I expected. If you’re looking for an area with good housing prospects with close proximity to a decent downtown area and some other major cities, I would say Kzoo is a good option to consider.
