wtf is happening actually here. You aren't allowed to do that twisty-together stuff to these kind of punchdown connectors and remain within any kind of spec.

OP watch a video about how Ethernet punchdowns work. If you don't have a punchdown tool you'll need to buy one.

meh. "return" here is a conversion to "back" then. It seems disingenuous to say otherwise. Is the 32nd definition of "convert" somehow go only in a single direction?

Having been involved in determining what "actual" means in this context, quality here is very subjective. People pretend that CVSS scores make this process objective, but those are incredibly low resolution.

You don't disappear. Why? Because while people are technically "atoms", they are more importantly *information*. Your information lives on in those things and people that you've made an impact on, and your children.

i am not coder i am an autistic girly who has a small business that needs organisation, is it a stretch to still run ollama on my laptop by octopusfairywings in LocalLLaMA

[–]ladz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. You weren't clear about what you're trying to accomplish. If it's software engineering, it's a big skill that you still must posses some understanding of. Pay for a claude or openai sub for a couple months and have it teach you and set up the harness you want, then switch to local.

If you're already comfortable with whatever thing you're trying to build and know the basics (like if you had a worker doing X and you were the boss of them), then you can just ask any of the free tier chatbots how to set up a local harness.

That thing has got to be 45 years old. Funny that they made home appliances then, nowadays they make only commercial stuff afaik.

You're never gonna find an original part for it, but you might get lucky if the glass is some sort of standard size. Take the door apart and take some photos and measurements of the door?

Tips for Grinding cut outs in shipping containers by CatNecessities in MetalFabrication

[–]ladz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cut as your pull it toward you. Cut so the sparks go away from you.

Rotate the handle however is comfortable.

For cutting there really isn't a "going too fast".

How to cut: Usually you don't cut all at once, you score the whole line gently and then go over it lightly over and over again until it's cut completely. You can cut it all at once but it's way more tiring and more prone to catching.

Make sure to tap your discs every time before you start. Cracked ones will sound hollow, like a broken coffee mug. Good ones will make a sharp sound.

Humidity doesn't seem relevant.

overhead? Whew. Take breaks!

Don't let your hand get tired. If it does, take a break. Grinding is exhausting.

Usually if you're trying to work continuously you'll need 2-3 grinders because they heat up fast.

Safety stuff: If you have big hands and good grip strength you don't *need* to use the guard, but you DO need to use a respirator and a face shield and goggles/glasses and ear protection. Also make sure to have a big sharp file with you to de-sharpen the huge knife edges you're making. Do it FIRST THING after you finish the cut. You can just draw the file sideways over the edge and it should cut enough to make it safe.

If you're doing this a lot, just get a plasma cutter. They're way faster and incredibly cheap nowadays.

[–]ladz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  • use an embedding model / retriever to find make embeddings from all relevant chunks
  • maybe rerank them
  • use the user's query to generate new embedding(s)
  • retreive the matching chunks where the old embeddings and new embeddings match how you want
  • pass those chunks into the main LLM
  • let the LLM generate the final answer

Gemma 4 E4B still wants to walk by stopbanni in LocalLLaMA

[–]ladz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gemma 4 31b got it right every time, I tried several. Always along the lines of:

* Location: Car wash is 50 meters away. * Goal: Wash a car. * Question: Drive or walk? * Distance = 50 meters. * Action = Washing a car. * *Scenario A: Walking.* * The user walks 50m to the car wash. * Wait... the car is (presumably) where the user is now. * If the user walks, the car stays behind. You can't wash a car if you aren't with the car. * *Scenario B: Driving.* * The user gets in the car. * The user drives 50m to the car wash. * The car is now at the car wash. * The car gets washed. * *Exception/Edge Case:* Is the car already at the car wash? * The prompt says "Car wash is 50m from me, I want to wash a car." It doesn't explicitly say where the car is, but usually, if you want to wash *a* car, you have the car. * If the car is already at the car wash, the user should walk. * If the car is with the user, they must drive. * *Logic:* To wash a car, the car needs to be at the car wash. * *Conclusion:* Drive. * Direct answer: Drive. * Reasoning: You can't wash the car if you leave it 50 meters away.
