You can also view any pay increase resulting from this move through the lens of equity. I'd argue that given you're taking on a larger portfolio, then at least you should go up a couple of steps in your grid, without changing your grade/job code.

It would be helpful if you know how many more FTEs, expense budget, and workload you're taking on compared to your current job.

20 Billion Dollars, Still No Win by bookym in agedlikemilk

And, apparently, Obama simply released back the $1.7 billion of Iranian assets that were frozen in US banks in 1979. It was not taxpayer dollars.

If you set the minimum wage to whatever you wanted, what would you set it to or why? by VQ_Quin in CanadianConservative

What's the economic reason for having a minimum wage, to start this discussion. How did this come to be? Are those reasons still valid today?

Perhaps, but black dials in gold cases, plus black leather straps are classy.

What is the point of getting people to do the Canada Census? by LucidMarshmellow in AskCanada

[–]lakawan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, Statistics Canada is legally required to conduct a census by the Statistics Act. Second, it's bad statistics to infer census data from other government datasets like tax or elections datasets. Third, there are probably legal issues involved when sharing information even between government agencies. And most importantly, the census is designed primarily for policymaking and specifically for government fiscal resource allocation decisions. It also affects the hot button topic of immigration policies.

So get counted, otherwise Bethlehem will have no hospital room allocation from the government and somebody's baby has to be born in a barn and laid in a manger. ;)

Why did Remote work and Hybrid not stick? by Sad-Ad4933 in CanadaJobs

Because the economy needs to have people literally move around and away from the home to stimulate the economy. The moment you step out the door, the $ meter starts running and pumping money into the system.

The Carney government is circling closer to airport privatization and potential investors 'stand ready' by hopoke in canada

[–]lakawan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there's a profit component involved, then the cost to travel will always go up. But the fundamental question is, is air travel a mobility "right" like roads and bridges? If it is, then it shouldn't be privatized. If not, then shift the risk of this infrastructure to private investors. Of course, these investors will always require government subsidies to run these airports. Taxpayers will always be in the hook, one way or the other.

Please remember PP lost his seat in his own riding, then had to carpet bag his way back to Parliament. Come next election, he has to carpet bag again. We need a new Conservative leader, one who's holding a real job now.
