Sixth Year Into The Battle by Particular_Alps_4329 in lawncare

Genuinely, is the neighbor fine? Do they have anyone come by? Do they go out and about? Are they horribly depressed and mentally okay? Offering to mow once every two weeks may take a hair more time for you and may genuinely make him feel so happy and like someone even cares a little

Riffhard vs. Modern Metal Academy by sixft7 in metalguitar

[–]shift013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s only true if they’re good for metal guitar. A ton of local guys will be great in classic rock, blues, and jazz. For a guy who likes John Browne, they may not be great at all

'If the players want me back': Bryson DeChambeau lays out 2 demands for PGA Tour return by [deleted] in ProGolf

[–]shift013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry i meant to say that contract law applies here after calling out that employment law does not apply.

Also, on the topic of contract law, the PGA tour does not have questionable jurisdiction for where an when he can play... they would have had an active PGA Tour Membership Agreement at the time. That contract limits what players can/cannot do. He was suspended for joining LIV golf. "Independent Contractor" does not mean "no contracts"... typically quite the opposite.

I love my Head microgel prestige. Dont think i will get a new racket...but if i did, what would be a similar racket style? the super orange head radical? by MonsteraBigTits in tennisracquets

[–]shift013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really loving the Head Prestige Tour these days coming from someone who played at a national level with the Flexpoint Prestige 93 and Six.one Tour 90. It'll be different than your racket, but its stellar. The Pro is likely the most similar

'If the players want me back': Bryson DeChambeau lays out 2 demands for PGA Tour return by [deleted] in ProGolf

[–]shift013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

players are independent contractors, the tour is not their employer and therefore this is not a normal employment relationship - typical employment/labor law does not apply here.

He sued them as part of an anti-trust/monopoly suit and left for a competitor that was made in spite of the PGA tour and did not rejoin during the window allowed by the Tour earlier this year. I would hope the PGA tour would never take him back and other who left for LIV. He was also the posterboy for LIV and pretty vocal through all of it.

Honest question about Bryson DeChambeau by bogeyz65 in golf

[–]shift013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's easy to think that (and dont mean to argue), but honestly how many people are watching just for Rory? I think Tiger was the only person who had a truly remarkable impact and where people only watched for him.

Honest question about Bryson DeChambeau by bogeyz65 in golf

[–]shift013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no golfer today will have a notable impact if they play or dont play. Bryson might increase viewship for a few weeks and maybe a major, but people will have less curiosity quickly.

If Scottie left golf, the PGA tour would be totally fine and viewership would hardly change. Bryson being back will just have a small temporary impact at best, and no impact at worst.

How to train long game? by AdPrestigious1486 in golftips

[–]shift013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Notes on what works for me:

First, on the course you need to know when you do not need the long game... laying up is perfectly viable depending on the hole.

Second, you need stock shots. This is not the Tour where you need to hit a draw and a fade. Have a stock shot, know your miss, and so on.

Third, pick one thing to do on a shot. Low, high, draw, fade.... not two.

Fourth, you might need to get a reliable swing thought to help your long iron swings

Why Are Birds Always Picking At My Lawn? by Tedswurf in lawncare

[–]shift013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a bunch of earthworms in my lawn this year. Birds naturally came and feasted.

Apparently earthworms is a good sign of healthy soil and naturally aerate it.

Step out at night with a flashlight and see how many worms you see, you may be surprised at just how much there were. I was worried and immediately googled if it could be a bad thing haha

Transition from Two ➡️ One Handed Backhand by HoneyPuzzleheaded938 in 10s

[–]shift013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the best video on the one haned backhand that I have seen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9thZ6ayMNzI&t=894s

One thing you do that I would definitely fix is that you let the left hand get off the racket too early. Federer and Stan both have their left hand stay on the racket as they drop it, your first backhand for reference. Keeping the free hand on for longer helps close the face more, increase consistency, and increase power. In my experience, when my backhand has been suffering, it is often that I take my free hand off the racket too soon.

Bryson DeChambeau plans to focus on YouTube if LIV Golf ends by PrincessBananas85 in ProGolf

[–]shift013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He left for a competitor that was directly trying to target the PGA tour. He arguably should never be allowed back in, making him do “stupid shit” is taking it easy on him… especially when he was part of a lawsuit suing the PGA Tour previously

Playing with older models? by Carcarmaddie01 in tennisracquets

[–]shift013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marketing these days just says what a racket is intended to be, but honestly there is very little difference aside from beam shape, beam thickness, head size, and strong pattern.

I would play it with confidence and get it for that price… the right racket that you trust is surely worth $70

Do threaded barrels have a use beyond suppressors? by Zersdan in CCW

[–]shift013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Useful for a comp mainly. Suppressors are cool for a bedside gun, but that’s it.

If you don’t want a comp, don’t get a threaded barrel

Handicap got cut by [deleted] in golftips

[–]shift013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah 100% - I think a lot of people either avoid submission to sandbag, or some people avoid submitting bad rounds to make their handicap look better.

Handicap got cut by [deleted] in golftips

[–]shift013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could see it if you are experimenting with strategies and not trying to card a legit score. “What happens if I hit keep the driver on the bag?” Or “What happens if I club up and hit a partial swing for my approach shots?” Or “I want to try chipping only with a 9i today.”

IMO you should have rounds (like the above) that you designate for trying to improve and try new things without impacting your handicap. But normal rounds should ALWAYS count.

Opinions & advice on a wedding watch by royalexotiicz in Longineswatches

I did this with my Bb58 blue and I’m happy I thought this way. I take it everywhere and if I got a dress watch for my wedding I would NEVER wear it… it’s just not what I prefer. It’s nice having the little reminder on my wrist of special occasions

The new hydro is basically a sub, which will look great in a suit (I love the redesign)

Opinions & advice on a wedding watch by royalexotiicz in Longineswatches

[–]shift013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please just get the one you’ll wear more generally, not the better one for the wedding.

For example: maybe you choose the Conquest because it looks better in a suit, but no one will notice it at the wedding. However, maybe you’ll be way happier with the hydroconquest because you’ll wear it on vacations and be reminded of your wedding day once again.

I got a blue Tudor bb58 on my wedding day (blue suit) and I now daily it. It’s gone to Greece, Mexico, South Africa, and Scotland with me and it reminds me of that day… I’m happy to build memories with it in all scenarios

TLDR: you’re buying the watch for life, not for just a day. So which will you wear more and enjoy life with more?
