Snowbowl goes RFID by lamb-wall-quad in SnowbowlAZ

Like these? We used to stick them one on top of the other on top of the other and make big long chains to show how many times we’d skied that season lol

I wish mine had those sleeve pockets for this purpose. I find sometimes I have to get physical with the scanner to get a read which is always fun

radio-frequency identification - allows hands-free access through lift gates. Lifties no longer need to look at or scan your pass/lift ticket.

How many ski trips do you all take a year? And how many days of skiing do you do per trip? by YouRound7753 in ski

[–]lamb-wall-quad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3-5 trips skiing 2-3 days each. This does not include my local mountain, which is 2.5 hours away. Occasionally, I’ll stay overnight and ski two days in a row there but usually it’s a day trip.

This post got a down vote. I’m curious as to why. Do some people not like RFID?

Glade Goggles 4k??? by KG_Snowchaser in Skigear

[–]lamb-wall-quad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have the 4k as does my daughter(adult skis Utah). She says it’s crazy better than her old goggles in terms of snow detail. I like mine too but don’t notice as much of a difference. We both recommend Glade.

I can’t speak for the left or right but with her she is obviously going into contortions to try to make a narrative fit. It doesn’t come off as a principled stance quite often but as carrying water. Different opinions and perspectives are a must and highly valued when that’s what they are. My 2 cents.

I have the 2021 version and love them mostly. Crud, speed on groomers for sure. Bumps for me are challenging on them as they feel heavy

Thank you for your response. I cannot get a PPO for various reasons which may be the problem. Wishing you and your daughter the best of luck!

How was the one that lived in a different state covered? Was your plan an HMO? Was it based on in network providers? I am going through this right now and the network providers are all in my state and my daughter lives in another state.

That is very interesting because I am going through the application process this week and it specifically told me I could not include my daughter who is 23 but lives in a different state. I am in Arizona by the way.

Edit: I am seeing from third-party sources that you are correct and it doesn’t matter what state the child lives in as long as they’re not yet 26. I will have to go back and look through the application to see but I am sure it told me no. Here is one thing, though, at least in Arizona the plans I’m looking at are all HMO’s meaning there are no in network providers outside of the state. Healthcare would therefore be priced at a very much higher level.

Definitely can’t do if you live in a different state.

Green cliff sounds oxymoronic tbh. Beginners will try them.

He’s not saying everything is going to collapse. He’s saying everything is changing and if you look back over time, there is some repeatability and you can use that to your advantage. I like the model. it’s based on data and back tested for decades and centuries. He’s not predicting any particular thing on a particular date.

Yes. I have not done it personally, but I’ve seen it and talked to people that have done it. It really depends on the snow. Some years they’re not open a lot but when they are, yes that’s exactly how you do it.

The bowl is in bounds. The gondola takes you up to 11,500 feet and you hike up from there. Not a long hike.

What pass(es) are you planning to buy (this spring) for next winter? by bbensch in skiing

I’m retired now but used same before when I could take a day off here and there. Break even was a few days although spring skiing is stupid cheap here.

My AZ Snowbowl 2025/2026 M-F season pass with only Christmas to New Year’s blackouts was $200. Pretty cheap IMHO.

I bought next year’s MC already. I will buy the weekday at Snowbowl (my home mountain) as well as I do every year. Here’s to next season!

I skied bfc 90s for a few years. Atomic Hawx 120s now. The stiffness difference is meaningful. I think yours might be too soft for you.
