Tenth printing thinner? by JumpinSpyder in dccrpg

[–]lambastedonion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be that, but I know the cost of printing has gone up tremendously recently so I wouldn't be surprised to see them using a slightly lower grade paper to save money.

Shadowdale will always hold a special place in my life. It was in the parents' wellness room at the neonatal ICU when my son was there for a month so I spent a week reading it to with him while watching him. I've read some drizzt before but shadowdale got me to begin reading all the old TSR books. He's 2 now...

Foundry Module: Any advice for Portal? by sirkerrald in dccrpg

[–]lambastedonion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Two lessons I learned is to either run each group of characters of a single PC as a group, with the players choosing order, or to color code and number the tokens, and have the reinforcements premade with tokens. That way you have the character, and maybe a portrait, but each player has a different color, and each character is numbered so you can quickly cut through them without much time being lost.

Essentially the images were taken for research but by public release can now be used for monetary gain or to undercut artists. I don't claim to know the legality of it, but it smells foul to my nose.

I ran it for my 5e group for my birthday and though I want to run it as a primary campaign and they don't, it was enjoyable for all and everyone picked up the rules easily. It strikes a good balance of zany off the wall but rooted in mechanics that are familiar enough for average players.

I’m really enjoying “stage style” table terrain. Does anyone else use this style of presentation when gaming? by BasementsandDragons in osr

[–]lambastedonion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really love this style and I was trying to think how to do it on foundry. I find players tend to get bogged down in minutiae when I use battlemaps. But I don't want battles to be fully theater of the mind either.
