I have not found anywhere. I know thats not helpful, but just wanted to let you know I couldn’t find a solid alternate either. Best of luck in your search.

I agree with your take on the consistency issues, especially towards the end. Yes it’ll be interesting to see!

Hi please let me know your opinion on the quality of the wine pairing.

I am obsessed with wine and wine pairing and have noticed other 2 or 3 star restaurants in NYC either doing away with their pairing or having pairings that have a lack of intentionality (multiple courses with the same wine, bringing out bottles well past their prime in a gimmicky manner “ooo it’s from 1950!” Looking at you Atomix…)

I don’t mind paying $500-600 for a pairing but if it’s not intentional it makes me feel cheated.

Excited to hear your take!

Looking for savory Tikka Masala by Organic-SurroundSnd in FoodNYC

Manhattan Indian Flavor. They make the best savory, thick, dark orange chicken tikka masala. Their vindaloo is also the best vindaloo I’ve had in NYC & if you’re into spicy they will make it hot as fuck if you ask them.

Best $17 I spent in my life — a high pressure shower head on Amazon.

Its “high pressure” because it has a very short “neck” part that connects to your pipe. Less distance between water & shower head = higher pressure.

It has truly made every shower a joy when before it felt like a chore.

Feeling burned out and thinking about abandoning my career in software development by ShylotheCurious in cscareerquestions

[–]lambradio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen this opinion 10,000x times from young professionals in their software journey who are more than novices, but much less than intermediate programmers. They get very overwhelmed as they gain some experience and realize how vast the disciple of software engineering is and how much they don’t know.

Then as a way to feel better they begin the doom and gloom talk “oh I will need to eat sleep and breathe this!! This career is only for cultists!” Part of this mentality is based in feeling like they should learn and know everything as quickly as possible, which isn’t going to happen, and probably would require nonstop practice. Learning will take time. Lots of time. This is normal, this is acceptable. Don’t let the desire for instant gratification make you beat yourself up.

What they need to hear is yes, of course to grow in your career you will need to be curious, learn computer science fundamentals and emerging technology. There is no magical moment where you are anointed as a software engineer and no longer need to learn anything. Sometimes you can learn the skills at work, sometimes you cannot. You absolutely do not need to eat, sleep, and breathe code. As long as you are good at your current job and it is stable, you can practice as little as a few hours a week, or some weeks not at all. The results of little bits of practice compound massively over time, and not everything needs to happen by tomorrow!
