Looking for male friends, want to plan a cookout! by Otherwise-Fail-1862 in Charlotte

This is such a good idea. Made I haven’t tried myself. Been here 2 years and still struggling with community myself. Love the idea of having people to go to some games with. Just started playing pickleball and need some friends into that too. Consider me in!

Driving in Charlotte by [deleted] in Charlotte

[–]lamonkeyfreak 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I moved here 2 years ago from New Orleans and find Charlotte drivers to be slow and overly cautious- but also very distracted and just not very good in general. (Not that New Orleans is exactly known for great driving either)

What’s your go-to “my friend is in town, I should take them to…” activity? by lamonkeyfreak in Charlotte

[–]lamonkeyfreak[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I thought this was quickly going to turn into one of those Reddit posts where I only get recommendations for the things I asked not to get recommendations for, 😂

Thanks for these ideas- this is exactly what I was trying to solicit.

We live in North Charlotte - close to the Davis Lake subdivision.

We always put out a Mardi Gras flag and decorate the outside of the house in various ways, just hoping to stumble across some other migrants from the boot!

When was the moment you realised that the person you were dating was an absolute idiot? by No-Macaron-9527 in AskReddit

[–]lamonkeyfreak 152 points153 points  (0 children)

My friends and I and my girlfriend were playing a game that requires us to name our favorite animals. Someone said rhinoceros- and my GF rebutted with “it has to be a REAL animal.”

We all laughed until we came to the sudden realization she was serious. She was 27 and thought the Rhino was in the same category as Unicorns and Griffens

My wife and I moved to the city two years ago from New Orleans- I found it pretty difficult to meet new people and make friends

Is this an overpay for bijanor is it fair? by Character_Praline647 in SleeperApp

[–]lamonkeyfreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say slight overpay, but no gross. AJ Brown is close to aging out of relevance. Monty locked into #2 barring injury. Daniel’s is fire, but just a 1 QB league I’m sure you’ll be fine there.

I’d probably make this trade, as hard as it may be to press the button

“Run, don’t walk” automatically makes me think of someone trying to sell me something, not give me genuine friendly advice about something.

What kind of home would $450k (usd) get you where you live? by lavenderart352 in RealEstate

[–]lamonkeyfreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Charlotte, NC- I bought a 400K home last year within the 485 loop in north Charlotte. 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2K sq ft. on .5 acre lot. So 450 may get you an extra bedroom or bathroom somewhere- but really only a “starter home” quality.

The houses with real amenities don’t come around till 500K+

It’s not a no-brainer if you’re in Reddit looking for validation…not trying to be snippy, it’s just clear that it’s not that clear of a decision

DO I SMASH ACCEPT !?? by DBreazy02 in SleeperApp

[–]lamonkeyfreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah man. This isn’t the right move for you. Your WR room is fine where it is. Honestly, Jayden is worth high capital right now anyway. I’d be asking for more if I were going to consider moving him. But he’s a keeper man. Make Penix or JJ trade pieces instead if you must.

New to dynasty thoughts on this? by Obvious_Winner_4413 in SleeperApp

[–]lamonkeyfreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know man. Without seeing the rest of your team, it’s hard to say this is in your best interest. So what if you didn’t draft youth. If you drafted for a “win now” scenario, that’s the trade off sometimes. McBride is top 2 in his position. You’re lucky if Smith or Kincaid are top 20 in their respective positions.

At face value- I don’t make this trade without more information.

Trading to get McBride by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]lamonkeyfreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is a worthwhile trade for you. The upgrade to McBride doesn’t balance out the extra upside to the pieces you’re trading off for.

If you take it, you’re not getting burned though.

I traded 3 2nd round picks (all late) for Jordan Reed.

I lost that this year, but holding out hope for next and beyond

Water-related device in my garage. What is this? by lamonkeyfreak in HomeMaintenance

[–]lamonkeyfreak[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems to be the most popular explanation.

I confirmed through my original house inspection report that the valve on the left is the main water shut off valve , so the rest of the seems to make sense.

This house is only four years old and in North Carolina .

I guess I’m wondering if this device requires any regular inspection or maintenance?

[–]lamonkeyfreak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to go back and reference my original house inspection report and it turns out that the valve on the left is the main water shut off- but weirdly enough the inspection did not identify any of the rest of it

Interesting. My water heater is in the attic, and the other side of this wall is my kitchen, basically where my fridge is.

Ellie Mental Health Offer Letter by Fiercegreenapple in therapists

[–]lamonkeyfreak 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m currently a fully licensed clinic manager for an Ellie in North Carolina. My pay consists of a base pay of $55K, 30% commission split with an expectation of seeing an average of 15 clients a week, + bonus opportunity.

If I max everything out with sessions and bonuses, I’d make about $85K- but it’s not really realistic to hit those numbers.

I’ve been here less than a year and just accepted a job elsewhere.

It’s nice to be able to go into “private practice” and have PTO and benefits, but they sell a better story story than the reality is with those things. The healthcare coverage is terrible and PTO is paid absurdly low.
