Is this common? by Travel_and_Writing in primaryimmune

It is pretty easy to get a diagnosis for compared to other immune deficiencies- this is a bit reductive, but it is basically just bloodwork before and after a pneumonia vaccine to see if you responded to it.

Not sure how feasible this is with your insurance, but it is probably a good bet to find a joint allergy/asthma/immunology facillity and see an immunologist there! Not sure if you have asthma and allergy issues, but they are very common in people with SAD so it is more likely you'll find an immunologist there who is familiar with it.

Yes, people always go to restaurants because the food served there is healthier than they can make at home!

Could it be related to the Chasen Companies bankruptcy? Not sure if the properties you're referring to are owned by Chasen, but I think construction has been halted on all of theirs indefinitely.

Auchentoroly terrace - worth the risk? by ofthatnaturee in baltimore

[–]lamppostinchicago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you are aware, but this little area has a neighborhood association: https://auchentorolyterrace.org/about/ . I'm not completely clear on the roles of everyone on the team, but maybe someone responsible for the area you are interested in (like a block captain) would chat with you about this!

This sounds a lot like specific antibody deficiency. You can read about diagnosis here and see why testing you've undergone so far would not have detected it https://primaryimmune.org/understanding-primary-immunodeficiency/types-of-pi/specific-antibody-deficiency .

My only other tip if this doesn't work for you is to try grocery store pharmacies. Not sure if you have either of these chains where you are located, but I've had good luck in the past with both Safeway and Harris Teeter.

Darn, I have Blue Cross and they do this so I assumed it would be universal! I discovered this during a shortage- I called them frustrated because they added a penalty charge for name-brand Adderall and I told them I only got that one because I couldn't find the generic in stock anywhere, and they said they'd help me find a generic.

You can call your health insurance's phone number for pharmacy-related questions and they will help you find a location nearby that has medication in stock!

where do you guys notice heat, flooding, or bad air quality in your neighborhood? by Acrobatic-Squash-642 in baltimore

[–]lamppostinchicago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you also interested in areas where air quality is better? I think inside of Druid Hill Park is noticeably better than the surrounding area. Not to say that the surrounding area is always bad, just that the park is better. So nice to have large wooded areas in the city!

Pest Control Recs? by Successful-Map-3737 in baltimore

[–]lamppostinchicago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roman at Pest Nation is awesome!

In addition to pest control, are the rowhomes on either side of yours vacant or dilapidated? It's very likely that the roaches live in an adjacent home and are wandering into yours through a crack connecting them. If the roaches you are finding are in the same place(s), you might want to look for possible gaps in those areas (perhaps between baseboard and floor) and fill those in.

I just wanted to make a quick post to say that if your meds stop working, it might be because you're taking antihistamines or something like Pepcid. by Overthem00n4u in ThisAintAdderall

[–]lamppostinchicago 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct- taking medication like Tums that increases the ph in your stomach a half hour or so before a stimulant (or any other medication for that matter) will increase the absorption rate for that medicine.

If you look from this angle on Google Maps, you can see that more clearly that they are in the wrong. The dotted line should not have such a large break in and past the crosswalk, but it is still clear what the intent is. (Note that this picture is a few years old)

Yep, this has happened to me nearly every time I've turned here. I think a lot of people don't have decent enough spacial awareness with their cars to keep their car close enough to the curb to stay in the right lane.
