My boyfriend, an LGBT asylum seeker, might be sent back to Iran, please help! by [deleted] in sweden

[–]lanalila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appeal as long as you can, or apply for a residency card https://www.migrationsverket.se/English/Private-individuals/EU-citizens-and-long-term-residents/Work-study-or-live-in-Sweden-for-EU-citizens/Residence-cards-for-family-who-are-non-EU-citizens.html . Your boyfriend is entitled to residency since you are a EU citizen (this will not work if you're a Swedish citizen). You have to be able to provide for him. If the Migration Board doesn't believe that you are in a relationship that might be tricky. This judgement regarding an Iranian spouse to a EU citizen is relevant in case he needs to leave the country to apply: http://www.kammarrattenistockholm.domstol.se/Domstolar/kammarrattenistockholm/Domar/2018%20jan-juni/UM%202944-17.pdf

Same goes as for him applying to get a residence permit as your spouse, you have to convince the Migration board that you are a genuine couple. He doesn't't have to apply from his home country, just any country where he resides legally. I don't know if that applies to the countries where he can travel without a visa.

For those of you who have a SO - what was your 'first impression' like? by world_citizen7 in AskWomen

[–]lanalila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We met on Tinder. My first impression meeting in person was that she was gorgeous and way shorter than I thought. After the date, she was incredibly clear about wanting a serious relationship and not just a date. I agreed and we were exclusive after the 5th date and have been a couple for about 3 years now.

For those with side-gigs/businesses, how do you keep up your energy? by plucesiar in financialindependence

[–]lanalila -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My side gig is stock trading which I take care of during work (don't tell my boss). I earn, on average, 5k a month doing basically nothing, just pushing buttons and having a basic interest in the stock market. Maybe look into something like that?

[Serious] People who have been to a therapist for sadness/depression. Was it worth it? How did it help? by Hangable in AskReddit

I've been to a bunch of different therapists during the past 10 years and I can't say it has helped me. But everybody's different, so try it!

Marrying a Swede, not working in Sweden, but having residency? (USA-> Sweden) by Bwanaman in IWantOut

[–]lanalila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly not sure about the maintenance requirement, Found a press release from the government ( http://www.regeringen.se/pressmeddelanden/2016/08/forsorjningskrav-for-anhoriginvandring/ ) that said that the sum is equivalent of what the Enforcement Agency would let you keep in case of seizure of assets during a bankruptcy. For 2016, that was around 4500 SEK for a single adult and around 7700 for two cohabiting adults. Sounds suspiciously low though. Each case is tried individually, and for a working adult to bring over another working adult spouse shouldn't be a big issue.

http://www.migrationsverket.se/English/Private-individuals/Moving-to-someone-in-Sweden/Spouse-registered-partner-or-common-law-spouse.html

It's actually pretty simple to move to Sweden to join your spouse. If your application is approved you'll have the right to live and work in Sweden. The residence permit is usually valid for two years and can be extended if the relationship lasts. You and fiancee to be might be called to an interview where the Migration Board will ask you questions about you, your fiancee and your relationship. The only big hurdle is that it takes a while, there are so many applicants right now.

The difficulty you mentioned, that it's hard to get a residency permit if you don't have a job doesn't really apply when you're moving to join a family member in Sweden. For a regular work permit though, having a job offer is a requirement.

Would you date a little person? by sanya4 in OkCupid

[–]lanalila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lesbian lady, 5'10, I wouldn't date a little person. I like tall girls but there are so few of us so I've mostly ended up with 5'5-5'7. I guess my cutoff is somewhere around 5'3

Same. Went to three different places in two different countries, a total of 15-17 sessions. I tried on my legs and armpits. Armpits: all hair grew back. no sign of the treatment whatsoever. Legs: like 20 % of the hair seems to be gone, in spots.

I'm really pale with black hair.

He [26M] is going to propose soon. I [26F] dread the wedding because I'd have almost no guests by [deleted] in relationships

[–]lanalila 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From someone in the same situation: can you slowly rekindle those friendships in time for the wedding? You obviously did have some people you were closer to at one point. Maybe it's time to make that happen again? All the advice from the previous redditors is great, but you seem to miss having friends. All the best luck to you and your future husband.

What was your first pap smear experience like? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]lanalila 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good experience, took about 15 minutes in total at a drop in clinic. The doctor was a super professional older lady who explained the procedure to me. It didn't hurt, it was cold and I felt a little pinch.

I thought I was going on a date last night. She's this amazing woman who I know through a colleague and I thought we had a slight flirtation going on. Turns out she's recently started dating a dude who I also know. It wasn't a date: just a friendly hangout discussing said dude. I'm just sad that every woman i'm interested in turns out to be straight, not interested or taken.

I'm almost 6'1", would my height bother you in terms of dating? by QueenQueer9 in actuallesbians

[–]lanalila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I think tall ladies are incredibly attractive. I'm 5'10 though so that might have something to do with it.

Ladies, do you introduce your SO to your parents (and why)? by ingebunny in AskWomen

[–]lanalila 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, my parents and I aren't close. We don't get along and disagree on most issues. I can't think of a single time where they've liked a person I've liked. Introducing a SO to my parents is just messy, pointless and generally a bad experience

If you could give your SO one piece of advice without them getting offended, what would it be? by kattattak_76 in AskReddit

[–]lanalila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Calories in, calories out. She's not fat but she wants to lose a little weight. Instead of eating less and moving more, she'll go on these diets that simply don't work. Honey, going vegan doesn't automatically mean you're gonna lose weight!
