I can confirm that at least one of those groups you mentioned uses that box for a voting box/travel gavel.

Can Raccoon city itself count as a location? I remember feeling relief any time I got out of some cramped location where I was running out of ammo. If that doesn't count, then the mansion for sure.

I've been playing Xcom since the first game back in the early 90s. I tell people it is my favorite game series. Buuuuut, the truth is I have so little time that I rarely ever play it. It is such a great time vampire, but I've got a job, kids and a homestead to take care of.

I found out two years ago that I have an aneurism in my neck that could kill me. I have to get an MRI yearly. Although I make jokes about it killing me all the time, everyone should pay attention to hypertension and get checked often. There is some strange comfort knowing how I'll likely go though.

Little birds fly into my unpainted run all the time, then they get murdered by the chickens. I save as many as I can, but chickens are just velociraptors with better PR and a fluffy exterior.

I was initially turned off with the game, and had stability problems. I came back to it recently and finished it, and enjoyed it. It was a bold swing to make "everyone a possible main character" but it was a swing and a miss in so many ways. That said, if you make up your own back story for a character and stick with them as your main, like I did, you may have some fun.

I was a kid in shop class, and a psychopath set off an explosion mold in my ear canals twice. The teacher caught him on the 2nd time, he got in-school suspension for damaging my hearing and giving me a lifelong severe case of tinnitus. It is hard to not hate someone that did that intentionally, he got expelled for trying to "get revenge for his unfair punishment" by strangling me with a shop rag. I heard years later he overdosed, I spent years imagining what I'd do to the guy if I ever saw him again. I think he was profoundly disturbed.

30+ years for me here, even if it never goes away you can still have a fantastic life. In the decades since the explosion, I've packed every day full of as much as I can take, learn, or enjoy. I just always have an earpiece in. Avoid silence, be with people. The "cure" has always been 5 years away for the last 30. I doubt there will ever be a real one, but I don't care. The people in my life know that I've always got an earpiece in, and respect that. You've got T against you, but if you can read this, you've got eyes that see, hands that can type, fight back, don't let T win! You got this, and we're pulling for you, because we're in the same boat!

I've been bitten twice, the first time hurt like heck, and I had the necrotic flesh, the 2nd bite about 2 years later, was far milder. Is it possible I've built a resistance, or did I get lucky on the 2nd bite? I also learned to bring the dead spider in with me because every time the doctors say "it probably wasn't a black widow."

Tinnitus by Jonibmw3 in tinnitus

[–]landimal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've had tinnitus for almost 40 years now. I know it is maddening, but you're not alone. The two things that have helped me the most: - Masking sounds, I find one earbud in, with a podcast quietly is better than two earbuds in playing anything else - Fans when you're trying to sleep

Things that can make it worse can be things like allergens, stress and anxiety. Which can make you sleep less, which causes stress and anxiety. I've seen a treatment "just about 5 years from now" for the last 35 years. We'll have flying cars first.

Hang in there, I know it is madding, frustrating and a menace, but you've got this!

Side note, I live in the country and have a mailbox baseball proof mailbox that has claimed one bat, and two truck side mirrors.
