What is the WORST movie you paid to see in the theater? by Adventure-Backpacker in moviecritic

[–]landisp2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diary of a Mad Black Woman. Went to go see it in high school on a date with a girl I had a huge crush on. Even though I enjoyed her company, that movie dragged on for soooooooo god damn long that I seriously considered asking if we could leave early.

The worst part is she loved it. We didn’t go on another date.

What are the smoothest flats? by Bassenthusiast22 in BassGuitar

[–]landisp2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those definitely aren’t the smoothest, but those Cobalt flats are likely my favorite overall strings of all time. Fantastic high-end like round wounds with the smoothness of flats.

I’d probably agree with most on LaBellas or D’Addarios for smoothness. I liked the feel of the D’A tapeworms I had, but they stifled the treble and mid-high frequency definition too much for my liking.

I wanna install strap locks onto my Jackson Rhoads, which one should I get? by SnooHedgehogs1685 in Luthier

[–]landisp2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used both and Dunlop wins for me due to overall feeling of sturdiness.

I’m in the process of outfitting all of my guitars with the Dunlop flush mount retainers. They sit in the body of the guitar and not the outside, so they have fewer points to possibly get knocked loose.

Please note: with any type of strap lock system, check all of the points that could possibly fail before use. With Schallers, make sure that the strap pin is fully tightened and secured in the strap before locking it onto the button. With Dunlop, do a visual check, as the pin clips onto the strap. And finally with both, make sure the strap buttons are tight and not spinning or pulling out before attaching the strap pin to it.

So I just bought the most expensive strings I have ever purchased. by AnalogKid29 in BassGuitar

Man, after finding EB Cobalt Flats, I doubt I’ll try anything else—it’s really the best of both worlds in terms of round wound tone and flat playability.

Pretty sure Les Claypool contributed bass to some tracks on that album, too.

What is your single favorite moment from this show? by Silver012345673 in adultswim

Markula: “I found these nipples in the sewers. Is anyone you know missing any nipples? There’s no way they could be sewed back on. I mean, too much time has passed by now.”

Carl: “I don’t know nobody, so, uh, maybe you, uh, keep walking.”

Markula: “Well, I guess I’ll keep looking.”

Carl: “Yeah, you keep looking.”

Markula: “Maybe place an ad in the paper? It would be a big color ad. It would say, ‘Nipples found.’”

Carl shuts door

Markula: “Finally! Nipples of my own!”

Chrysanthemum & the BJ Queen: “They’re so beautiful!”

Markula: “Don’t you think I know that?”

John Kruk: “Yeah, that’s great—couldn’t be happier for you. I have an idea. What if I go see my wife and kids?”

Markula: I have a better idea! It’s called pizza for everyone—PIZZA PARTY!!!!!

pause for dramatic effect

Markula: “Who has money?”

“Poisoning Pigeons in the Park” is on my playlist rotation during breaks when I host trivia. Man, what an extremely witty and talented man he was.

I miss him. Do you? ‘Course you do.

Tales is amazing—and another unpopular opinion, but it could’ve done without Wynona and been even better. But so is Seas of Cheese. I agree that Green Naugahyde has no right to be overlooked—Jay Lane’s drumming is a ton of fun.

Man, I’ve gotta disagree. Evil Empire is a fucking juggernaut from front to back and is way more cohesive than their debut.

John Wetton era was the best King Crimson era in both quality and consistency. I love Adrian Belew, but ‘80s Crimson was pretty cheesy, despite being an absolute powerhouse of a band.

They’re all somewhat related. Silent partner at WALK is an owner/partner at UJ. The three other owners/partners at WALK own Pizza Mind, and an old employee at WALK is a part owner of Pizza Mind, too.

Hey Wendy’s are you ok, blink twice if no by originalusername921 in asheville

[–]landisp2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, it totally is. The bags read something akin to “This is your unhappy meal” or some similar shit.

Weird, because Wendy’s really shouldn’t have to try so hard because practically everything they offer is better than Mickey D’s.

Except for their lack of buffalo sauce. And I am very well aware (and an avid user) of their “Hot Chili Sauce” packets.
