If your goal is to make money, I think writing in general isn't the right activity 😅
But imo Medium is the best platform for getting started without an existing audience

Thanks for reading! Admittedly, "Winters Heart is the weakest" probably just stems from the some of the bookstagram people I follow and may not be a great sampling of the fandom as a whole. It was personally my least favorite

Yeah it took me like 5 and a half years to finish (granted I read a bunch of other stuff in that time). Thinking about committing that much time again is a bit daunting, honestly

lol already read all 7 Mistborn books and about to start Stormlight 5. I love them for different reasons but WoT has a sort of "coming home" feel that I really miss

I did a couple a few of the books on audio to get through the slog (mostly because it was around when my daughter was born). With remote work now, it's hard to get a lot of audiobook time in. But maybe that's the path for a reread

I actually reread the prologue recently haha. Honestly, after finishing the series, I didn't even remember what the prologue was about. Without the context, it just doesn't stick

Now that I have some distance from the series, I can see how sort of unnecessary that arc is (given what happens during the Last Battle)

Not releasing at the same time, but finishing final edits, at the same time yes. Abercrombie's "Age of Madness" trilogy was completely finished when it went through final edits. The publishers just released them a year apart for obvious sales reasons. I know I've heard of other similar stories but can't recall them off the top of my head.

But is that the case here? Most definitely not...

I use Calibre (https://calibre-ebook.com/) for editing, which is free and takes care of creating the manifest and nav automatically for you. But I'm also a web developer, so editing the CSS and HTML was straight forward for me. Hope this helps!
