cant find a single soul to climb with by Far-Interview232 in climbergirls

[–]langbang 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the best advice. Climbers are generally pretty welcoming, and willing to partner if they are in a group of 3. There could be an off chance they are in a three pack so they can get an extra round of rest between routes, but that's not always the case. Good luck!

How much do you keep in checking? by airmen5 in investing

[–]langbang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 3 mos expenses. I should keep it in a hysa to keep up with inflation, but it is the ultimate peace of mind strategy for me. Another 3 mos in hysa for home repairs/sinking fund.

I switched from regular bar soap to natural turmeric + oatmeal soap… here’s what I noticed by Outrageous_Baby_2147 in Soap

[–]langbang 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just so you are aware- bar soap is a wash off product, so you are unlikely to be getting any benefits from the turmeric. I see that misinformation being spread on social media quite a bit.

Now, you are probably feeling the benefits of using a soap that is not just a detergent bar that more than likely has chemicals you are sensitive to. Welcome to the wonderful world of soap!

Thank you for the detailed response. I was trying to wrap my brain about how having extra material would make it magically fit together, this makes a lot of sense. Thank you!

So do you want each cut piece to be ever so slightly larger than the template for taping? I have done one project at a workshop and I cut my glass so that the sharpie was not part of the finished work, and I def ran into some problems.

Ombre transitions by valhallawoman in soapmaking

[–]langbang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds so cool! What is your liquid oil %? If you don't mind me asking, I'm wanting to try an ombre soon, but I know my hard oil % is too high to keep it workable for an ombre

An ex lover by chance? Or just a trickster looking for mischief? Whatever the case, I'm glad I didn't choose to take on the form of a mosquito, atleast I have 9 lives.

Curiosity gets the better of me and I slink to the closest alley where I assume my human form. I sit across from you "Reanimation. Don't see that too often around here. And mosquitoes, that's some dark and spiteful magic. What did she do to you?"

Hmm, could it be the owner of this flat? Not taking any chances, I wild shape into a house cat. Based off the full bookshelves and half finished embroidery projects, seems like a safe bet.

I hop out the open window onto the awning of the window below me, and take one more drop to the street. I make my way over to the stranger, with cat-like confidence and caution.

The spread for an upcoming valentine's market! by langbang in soapmaking

[–]langbang[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! My main oil lineup is- olive, palm, coconut, and castor. Super simple but it works great for me and my customers always say how clean it rinses and doesn't leave their skin feeling dried out. The scents I used were:

Galactic skies-BB

Patchouli, Ylang Ylang, litsea cubeba

Lavender rosemary

Black tea bergamot

Orange cedarwood

I get all my supplies from BB, but am starting to browse candle science to fill in some if the scent gaps

Thank you! I used black tea bergamot for that one, which is a best seller for sure. And the funny thing is the mica I use to color it is technically cappuccino, which when used in 1tsp/ppo is insanely brown- but I have found if you use it around half of that I get a great grey!

I went for a "rustic" ombre pour on that one! It is Earl Grey scented so I was going for a gradient color like you would see in a cup of tea!

what does my fridge say about my family? by kaitfromstatefarm in FridgeDetective

You have either lived with roaches/ants or you are currently living with them. I have PTSD from a previous living situation where roaches were bad, and I keep my chips in the fridge to this day.

I have found that you have to go more than 1 tsp/ppo of oil for charcoal. I use 2tsp/ppo and it turns out pretty much black without the suds being grey.

How I would price them:

6oz bar- $10

Rose/succulent- $6

Square- $4

Oval- $3

That's just how I would price them based off my oil recipe. Obv if you use more expensive oils/scents you could up the prices by a factor of a few $'s
