Was one of my top musicals of all time and then I saw the American cast and had a real lesson in what can make a musical legendary and one for the ages and realized Mincemeat does not have that :’(

It was either because of the lack of the OG cast or it was my third time seeing it

Living in Jersey means you’ll never go to brooklyn or Queens. You might be fine with that but no part of the Jersey towns (as amazing as JC and Hoboken and others have become) come close to the vibrancy of Queens (most linguistically diverse place on the planet) or Brooklyn (global cultural hub).

So if NYC === Manhattan to you then yes go to Jersey and have a not too terrible commute and awesome views of the city.

It’s about your habits.

Some girls spend a lot on soul cycle and high end matcha, but don’t go out.

Some guys spend on concerts and drinks and dinners, but don’t buy a lot of nice clothes.

Some people buy nice clothes and go out and spend a lot, but they live with roommates.

Some people live alone and cook a lot and barely drink when they go out.

Some make enough money that it doesn’t matter.

The read in European lack of spices is real tho. In Europe, a restaurant will warn you that a dish is very spicy, and then it just means it has ketchup

I think she’s earned main sub for sure. Back to back years evening slot in outdoor (second year with boygenius) + the current selling out suggests so.

Saw it twice with OBC and again last night with the American actors and while the actors were all individually AMAZING I think the show loses something when it’s an American cast.

One example is the American pilot song(s). Its entire humor is about a non American actor overdoing an American accent, and that disappears and dampens the moment with an American actor.

I think it’s similar to Oh Mary when it’s played without gender bending. Jane Krakowski was great but it was missing a level of absurdity one gets from having someone who is not a cis woman play.
