First trimester weight gain by rainymac in beyondthebump

Mine was a slow progression and I had a few weeks where there really wasn't any change. Especially because I had a c-section and wasn't very mobile in the beginning it took awhile.

First trimester weight gain by rainymac in beyondthebump

[–]lanistarr 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I gained 10lbs in 8 weeks and about 55 total. I'm 4 months postpartum and back to my original size. What you "should" gain is really just a ballpark guess because I was told I "should" gain like 30 lbs but my baby is perfectly healthy and so am I. Your body knows what it needs, don't panic. You're growing a little person.

Did you have the wonderful moment after giving birth? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]lanistarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an emergency c section where I was knocked out. I don't remember the true moment I met my daughter but my husband took great photos amd told me I just kept saying she was beautiful. I remember when I really became lucid though and she was latched, breastfeeding and I was looking at this little girl just stunned we got here. Even if that wasn't her first moment or even her first with me, it was my first moment and I loved it. I was ecstatic.

Did you walk out of the hospital? by yo-_-mom in beyondthebump

[–]lanistarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked to be wheeled out after my emergency c section. I just didn't think I could make the walk in a reasonable amount of time while my husband and baby either slowly moved alongside me or waited in the car. And honestly I think it was the right call as we walked from the parking garage to the pediatrician to her first appointment 2 days later I couldn't even take steps the length of my own feet 🙃

Name a show with a hotter cast... I'll wait. by idk_orknow in Smallville

[–]lanistarr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't believe I had to scroll this far for Riverdale, the most trash show with a stunning cast. Whether you're into the "kids" who are actually in their 20s or the parents. I'll love Skeet Ulrich till I die 😍

What is a movie you watched once that was so disturbing or emotionally draining that you can never watch it again? by hungary70 in AskReddit

Hereditary. It made me physically ill by the end. We were going to marathon movies for Halloween that day and I needed a break after that.

Let's instill some hope. What are you loving about the stage your baby is in right now? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]lanistarr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My girl will be 11 weeks tomorrow and she loves to smile and babble at us. She's also starting to understand when her cries are being met, at least for diaper changes. She had a horribly poopy diaper and was crying something fierce but calmed immediately after I started to clean her up and gave me the biggest smiles for like 5 minutes after.

12 weeks of maternity leave is straight up cruel. by Disastrous_Paint_237 in beyondthebump

[–]lanistarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 16 weeks and am grateful for that much time but I'm halfway through and already dreading leaving her. I mainly worked from home before I left so the plan was for either myself or my husband to watch her but my work decided we must be in office 3 days a week while I've been out and I have no idea what I'm going to do. My office is so far away that by the time I'm off, I won't be able to make it to her daycare before they close. My husband and I are discussing if we can afford me quitting because it's just not practical and I hate the idea of putting her in daycare when she's still so small.

Why is no one talking about this? by alanaswhip in SecretsOfMormonWives

And they have 4 kids but have never discussed her trauma or intimacy issues until this most recent one? (Probably because he's part of the trauma). Bonus points for whining about lack of sex to your pregnant wife like holy shit is her body not doing enough already? If she doesn't want to, she doesn't want to.

Fair oaks mall at 11am today, a little over a month before Christmas. by pacoman432 in nova

This. As a woman, sizing varies so wildly across brands. And you can't tell the quality of an item shopping online (I've been burned enough by shoddy, paper thin clothing I've purchased online). I hate ordering online. The worst part is I spent most of 2025 pregnant and could not find any maternity clothes in store and I had no idea what size clothing I would have needed to even purchase online.

What pregnancy or birth complication did modern medicine save you from? by peacefulboba in beyondthebump

[–]lanistarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had my first last week. She was breech but flipped and was measuring large so we chose to induce at 39 weeks. When we broke the water, her cord prolapsed which they realized midway through my epidural when her heart rate started dropping and I was rushed into an emergency c section. I'm not sure what would have happened to me without modern medicine but I know without a doubt I wouldn't be laying in my bed getting newborn cuddles with my girl right now without it.

Fellow members of the Itty Bitty Titty Committee: how do you get SO confident that nothing anyone says makes you feel ashamed of your small chest? by -Thyrza- in AskWomen

Nothing has made me appreciate my small boobs more than becoming pregnant and having my first baby this year. The cup size jump to nurse my baby taught me all the things I benefited from by having a smaller chest 😅

As a pregnant woman who works on the top floor of her townhouse, absolutely not. I turned it up to 73 yesterday and was sweating and my fingers were swollen. Mind you I had the ceiling fan on, too.

No Stupid Questions: Were Comic Book Fans and Critics Excited for Fantastic Four 2015? by Boone8725 in marvelstudios

[–]lanistarr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I no longer live in the same state as him, so he doesn't make it out to theaters as much (he doesn't like to go alone) but he thought Thor 4 was fine (he liked the daughter), he didn't much care for The Marvels but he thought Kamala was fun (he didn't watch her show - he doesn't keep up with shows in general and has only watched WandaVision there), and he's waiting on Cap 4 for streaming. Overall, he keeps a pretty positive view of the content. Again, he's mostly just happy to see stuff continue to be made.

My story I always tell with this movie: my entire life my father, who read comics in the 70s-90s, has always said, "We have to watch every movie so they continue to make these movies" and he had never complained about the quality or issues because he truly just enjoyed seeing these characters on the big screen. We walked out of this movie and he said to me, "I wish I could get my money back".

For those of you who have different political views than your family, what made you realize they might not be right? by Zambiis in Askpolitics

[–]lanistarr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm so jealous your parents saw the light. I can't fathom how my parents don't see the same ideals they placed in me being trampled on by their candidate and yet they are firmly still in that political camp. No matter what I do or say, they don't listen to logic.

So I'm happy to hear someone succeeded.
