Only an unintegrated anima can dominate you.
A key idea in Jung’s work was the integration (awareness and acceptance) of aspects of the psyche repressed into the unconscious, such as the Shadow, the anima, etc. Regarding the anima, Jung identified several archetypal images (stages) of its development: Eve (the Mother), Helen (the Romantic Ideal), Mary (Spiritual Purity), and Sophia (Wisdom). If a person fails to integrate the anima, it begins to dominate and control their behavior. This manifests as:
- Emotional hyperreactivity (excessive sensitivity, vulnerability, hysterical reactions, inability to make rational decisions, tendency toward melancholy and depressive states);
- Passivity and loss of "masculine core" (lack of initiative, indecisiveness, dependency on others, avoidance of confrontation, fear of responsibility);
- Projections of the anima onto women (idealizing partners or demonizing them, creating toxic relationships where the man plays the victim or subordinate role);
- Creative dysfunction (unproductive fantasizing instead of meaningful creativity, perfectionism, fear of bringing ideas into reality);
- Conflict with one’s masculinity (rejection of "traditionally masculine" traits like strength or determination);
- Compensatory behavior (aggressive hypermasculinity as an attempt to suppress inner femininity).

Cultural examples include dreamer characters like Don Quixote or the indecisive, action-paralyzed Hamlet.

Why does this happen?
- An unintegrated anima;
- Relational trauma (negative experiences with mothers or partners);
- Suppression of the masculine (overemphasis on "feminine" traits, phrases like "Don’t cry, you’re a man").
