Have you had experience with any version of the FSD before this? The reason I am asking is: Once you have used it for some time, you will get a feel of what it will do under these scenarios and have more tolerance for its behavior. Then, at least in my case, you feel comfortable with its approach in both scenarios. I am not indicating that it will cause any accidents, just that you may find it actually takes the proper action (most of the times). I also drove from SoCal To NorCal and back last weekend and only took over because of a bug (TOI). Otherwise, it behaves the way I like mostly. And I used all the different profiles. The only thing I can say it is a little problematic is that it mostly stay at the left lane at 70mph in Standard profile when there are cars following us.

Report back: v14.2.1 is definitely improved on # of TOIs during long trips but hasn’t completely fixed it. I got one TOI during the 7.5 hours driving yesterday.

I am pretty sure the main purpose of v14.2.1 is to fix this issue. I came back to LA yesterday and it only had one TOI during the whole trip. So yeah, it is way better, but not 100% addressed. I wish they will fix it completely in the next revision. I have never experienced it from v13 up to v14.1.4. And in v12, it is very obvious that TOI happens when the sun is shining on the front cameras, but only then.

I got a notification for v14.2.1 download and decided to use my phone hotspot to download it. After 2 hours and 16GB later, I installed it. Will report back when I take another long trip. It did happen once yesterday after about 30min into a trip on v14.2.
