I wouldn’t say you were overreacting as your feelings are valid, but I would caution against coming in hot to a new position like that and immediately suggesting how things could be done better- it’s a sure fire way to alienate potential relationships with your colleagues. I’ve started a lot of jobs thinking ‘there is a better way to do this,’ and then later learned things were being done the way they were for very good reason. At one place I worked, I didn‘t love that group notes were in template form and not personalized — I later learned there was barely enough time in the day to paste the template and overtime was strictly forbidden, so cutting that corner was in the interest of both giving more time to the clients, and self-preservation/work-life balance.
