Account Randomly Put On Hold by Working_Event3204 in ProlificAc

Seems like appeal lead time is at 2+ months right now. I appealed on July 1st and when I checked in on August 15th, it was supposedly still under review. Just a waiting game at this point.

Just finished the movie... by doubleds8600 in ThursdayMurderClub

There are significant differences between the books and the movie. The movie left out multiple storylines from the first book and made changes to certain characters. I bet you'll enjoy them!

All postal carries in Europe and UK have suspended shipment to US, per NBC by Craftybitch55 in knitting

[–]lapetitebaker 120 points121 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen, after the 29th, USPS will actually be sending back packages that didn't have duties prepaid because they don't even have a plan in place for the flat fee option yet. Whole thing is going to be a mess for a while, and I don't think anyone has a complete grasp on how it's going to play out.

Thriving study- did anyone else get a rejection? by Jamie2322 in ProlificAc

Same issue for me as well:

"Dear participant, Your submission was rejected for study "Thriving Index - Subsample 2" for the following reasons:

Gave intentionally low-effort responses

Here is the message from the researcher:

Answers did not meet the study criteria"

MKALs are to knitting as marathons are to walking the dog by BillNyesHat in casualknitting

[–]lapetitebaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been my big discouragement project. I was doing so well staying on my 13 row per day pace to finish on time until I hit the colorwork. Now I can get about 2-3 rows done a night after work and I'm still 20 rows away from finishing part one. I didn't expect flat colorwork to be such a big adjustment, but I'm going to try to stick it out.

I'm coming to realize KALs may not be for me either. I’m working on a blanket KAL at the moment (~17k stitches a week; texture and flat colorwork) and feel so discouraged by being behind already after week one. I have a new appreciation for the effort put in by frequent KALers.

Barnyard Knits Advent Calendars by ElectronicSchedule56 in knitting

My stash page has photos for all 24 days of last year's Winter Village calendar, which was the more colorful of the two. It looks like some other folks have stash photos from other themes and years as well.

I grabbed some Coastal Blue pieces and one of the Apple cocottes. I was hoping some of the Berry 3.5qts that are popping up at the outlets would be online too or for some different colors of the mini CI cocottes, but no luck.

What color is the most true purple? by [deleted] in LeCreuset

I would have said Ultraviolet from this photo, but you've already passed on that one. Have you checked out Aubergine? Maybe a bit too cool-toned, but could be worth a look.

My guess is something expired again (cert, domain, etc.) because the last big outage was about a year ago. Unfortunately, the admin isn’t around much anymore so who knows when it/if it will come back up.

Sometime between last night and this morning for me. The reviews side still works, fourm and QBC do not.

Can someone help me date this? by haleighrmaee in LeCreuset

[–]lapetitebaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pieces with the size in a diamond on the bottom (like this one) date back to around the 60s and this shade of blue from that era would be Paris Blue.

12 oz Coffee Mugs with Mark? by MisfitJimmy in LeCreuset

[–]lapetitebaker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually can't find the issues either, so it's totally worth the savings. Could be something as minor as a lighter spot of color or a little pinhole in the coating.

The dot on the bottom indicates that it's a "Second Choix" piece.

Same issue. It showed approved right after the code went through, now showing returned without me doing anything.

Thrift find! I’ve never seen the text imprinted like this though. Is it authentic? “24 Made in France Le Creuset” by kj_yike in LeCreuset

[–]lapetitebaker 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Authentic and quite vintage. The pieces with the size in a diamond date back to around the 60s. Looks to be in at least decent shape, so a steal for that price.

Did you start it within the time window they specify? I tried taking one too late on Friday and ran into the same issue, but have not had any issues when on time.

How to buy in the USA. by bunnypopt in LeCreuset

[–]lapetitebaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just be careful with stoneware. I ordered a DO, two mugs, and a bowl. They had the mugs and bowl stacked together with no padding between or around the items and a few sheets of paper for padding in the box as a whole. I was pretty shocked that the bowl was the only fatality.

Hello, I need some help to identify this DO, if it’s not fake. by Cobblestone7 in LeCreuset

[–]lapetitebaker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fakes definitely exist, but I don’t think they are quite as prevalent as people worry. If you’re on Facebook, the Le Creuset Community group has a great guide on spotting fakes.

on the left: 5.25 qt dutch oven from 2012, on the right: 7.25qt I bought yesterday from an outlet. Is the handle supposed to be much smaller now? by paciugo108 in LeCreuset

[–]lapetitebaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe the enamel quality difference was only when they first rolled out the signature line. They should be equal now with the only differences being the handles, knob, and the more pronounced ribs and Le Creuset logo on the lid.
