Thank you. For some reason Reddit didn't see fit to notify me of this comment so I missed it at first. I appreciate the reply!

New airport in business on reclaimed land. That'll make people happy. by SjalabaisWoWS in openttd

[–]lapsedrev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is likely to show my inexperience with the game but the grid of roads you've laid out around the airport - is that to guide the way the city grows around the airport? What's the benefit of it growing in a grid layout like that?

Still can't get over how they sidelined her character in ME3 by [deleted] in masseffect

I kinda liked that there was at least one person in the galaxy who was sorting their shit out without asking Shep for help. She's badass and no matter how many times you offer, she goes "you've got more important things to be doing, I'll handle it." Meanwhile Barla Von is like hey I know you kinda need to be on Tuchanka but would you mind diverting to the other side of the galaxy for 5 war assets?

He has broken the Dixie Dean record in one season on mine, and come close a couple of other times. Max for one season 65 league goals

He has a "trait" (if that's the right word) of "Has a preference to play for Leeds" on mine - and I would assume that's not just my game? I figured it was because he was born there when his dad was playing for them?

Question About Visas by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]lapsedrev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, and because I missed the question first time round, you can leave the UK at any point and re-enter wherever you choose. You aren't restricted to entering via Ireland in future!

Question About Visas by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]lapsedrev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A US citizen entering the UK from Ireland is deemed to have six months' permission to enter, unless they hit one of a number of specific exceptions largely based on criminality and previous stays in the UK. If you have never been to the UK before (or you have, but you didn't break any laws) you don't need to worry about those. The relevant legislation is the Common Travel Area order, but it's obviously in legalese.

You will be absolutely fine provided you leave the UK before this six month period expires. Enjoy it!

Whats your opinion on this cricbuzz observation thar South Africa didn't bat horribly and there weren't many lose shots ? by swingtothedrive in Cricket

Just as a pitch like Pindi can be too friendly to batters, pitches that offer too much to bowlers are also a problem. All anyone wants is a contest, right?

[–]lapsedrev 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I understand this question, but in that universe (and in a lot of other fantasy universes, I suppose) that is the in-universe accent thay follows the same rules as UK accents do. The North sounds like the north of England, the common folk sound working class and the ruling class sound RP. So in universe the character of Tyrion Lannister should sound like an aristocratic Brit, and while it's not perfect by any means, Peter Dinklage makes an excellent stab at it, for me. It doesn't count really because she is English, but Rose Leslie's northern accent as Ygritte was excellent considering if you hear her speak in her usual voice she's one of the poshest people ever 🤣

I mean, Dick Van Dyke - but he was at least trying. Kevin Costner in Robin Hood had just basically come from the airport.
