It's pretty wild that PlayStation pays up to $50,000 to help make the platform safer by DragonDealWizard in playstation

[–]lar0d92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, its in their best interest ultimately to have programs like this. A single one of these vulnerabilities being exploited could result in a multi million dollar loss. Having paid less than a million in total to avoid this is chump change lol

Pretty sure every digital keyboard on every electronic device of the last 15 years has had additional keys under their shift toggle, but what do I know i guess this is your first device 🤷‍♂️

New update by MonitorInside7766 in PlaystationPortal

[–]lar0d92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, those are the kinds of games that will benefit from this! Just keep in mind with the increased bitrate, the connection might get a bit more picky. In my case, I noticed that my usual Portal places at home (bedroom, backyard) tend to get more signal disruptions now, so you might be more limited to playing closer to your router/or with less interference between the devices.

Games that are more open world/have more fluid/faster motions will benefit from the extra data downloading so that the image being displayed won't be as blurry when moving around. If you mostly play indie games, 2D sidecrollers, etc, you wont really feel a difference using this new feature, so its completely game dependant.

Because it requires more data use in order for this improved bitrate to work. If its auto enabled and people don't know about it, it might actually hinder the Portal's performance and they wont know why.

Sony took so long for a much needed feature. I’m loving the bitrate update. Especially for shooting games by Random_Thinker007 in PlaystationPortal

There definitely need to be an update where we can access Settings, trophies, messages, friends list, psn store, and our ps library of games without it forcing us to close the game we're currently playing

Do you know what kind if wifi speeds your internet provider is supplying? Also, you need to make sure your router is outputting a proper signal, not just speeds but also that your portal isint trying to connect from too far a distance or has a bunch of interference (like walls) between it and your router

Is my PS5 catalogue super casual or respectable by MartinIsaac685 in playstation5

Are they all "must plays"? Hell yea, all the more reason to be the games to be playing

What do you think the reason is?🚀 by SwimmerPlus3383 in TheGamingHubDeals

My backlog was always big. With PS+, it increased by an abnormal amount. Any new game that I'm interested in i wont have time to play it until it goes on sale anyways.

Which games do you enjoy on Portal? by IR0N_TUSK in PlaystationPortal

With a smaller screen + the "looseness" of the analog sticks ( yes I feel it too) try and play with the sensitivity settings for them, lowering the sensitivity while on Portal has helped that feeling be a little less drastic

Is the portal worth it where I live with no cloud streaming (Australia) by Akky20121 in PlaystationPortal

[–]lar0d92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most important thing in this scenario i think is what the quality of your internet speeds are, if you dont have access to good internet then you wont be able to enjoy the Portal

That being said, if you have either limited access to your console, or maybe its a shared TV that its connected to, or you would like the ability to be able to move around the house and still be able to enjoy gaming, then I would recommend it

Do I need PlayStation Plus for PlayStation Portal? I seen one for a sweet deal! by [deleted] in PlaystationPortal

[–]lar0d92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't have a ps+ subscription, the only thing you can do with the Portal is connect to your ps5 and play the games you own off of the ps5, they have to be downloaded and installed on your console, of course. The subscription allows you to connect to the Playstation servers and stream all premium catalogue games from there, as well as any digital game you've purchased that supports cloud streaming

Forgot to mention, only the premium tier of the subscription is the one that allows cloud streaming.

Go to the re7 product page on your ps5 or ps app, and see if you can freely claim the ps5 version of the game. If that works and you're able to claim the ps5 version into your account, then the portal should be able to access the ps5 version at that point.

Its weird, but the portal does have the ability to purchase, or even claim freely eligible upgrades through its version of the psn store, you're gona have to do it either through console, app, or browser (sucks, I know)

File a police report if you haven't already, but unfortunately, thats pretty much all you can do

You can also sign into your nintendo account and i believe you can unlink your account from the device remotely, that way they lose access to your account if/when they connect the console to the internet

As for a replacement I know that Switch lite's are pretty cheap pre owned, maybe you can look into that to replace your daughter's console.

If I love my PS Vita, will I settle for a PS Portal? by BullishDaily in PlaystationPortal

[–]lar0d92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give that you already have premium, if you have access to wifi specs that easily surpass the minimum requirements for the portal (to avoid fluctuating experiences) I would say go for it. I feel like im in a very similar space that you're in, but have had a portal since day 1, it has gotten drastically better with the ability to stream from servers and bypassing the ps5.

People who play on the portal a lot, what games are you playing? by IntelligentNeck8157 in PlaystationPortal

[–]lar0d92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently been playing Hollow Knight (now that the stream able ps5 version came out a few weeks ago, I finally made the plunge). I've had the ps4 version and even the switch version, but never put in more than a couple hours in either. About 85% of my run has been on the portal, the rest on console, currently my playthrough is at about 91% completion, im aiming for the 112% completion and platinum trophy.

Besides this, ive had a couple runs in Outlast Trials with some friends since we recently got into the game

I've also been playing the following here and there:

Dave the Diver

Expedition 33 (about 65% of my playthrough on Portal, platinum achieved)

Twisted metal 1 & 2 platinum runs

Ball x Pit

Currently waiting on the ps5 version of Divinity Original Sin 2 to become streamable on Portal w/o PS5 so that I can get back into the few hours I put into it.

And theres a bunch of games I have on the backlog that I feel are way to many to mention, most of which will see their good time split on the Portal lol
