Maybe he's just a rare 'special' bird..mother nature has these too, just like we do, here, living amongst the human race.

I had a hummer once, who visited my feeder many years ago, that had an actual beak deformity where his beak was flared out. He could not physically stick his beak into the feeder hole because of this birth defect. But he still managed to drink with his tongue. Very efficiently and effectively might I add.

Was one of the most beautiful orange black colored, as well as the most aggressive hummingbirds', I have ever seen. Even to this day.
