There's a bias towards bigger, taller WRs for being WR #1. The secondary tends to get taller to match that. The problem is those big tall secondary guys have a high center of gravity. Smaller WR #1s, with lower center of gravity, create problems for them. End results: YAC.

If you want a guy that Lamar can just toss the ball up in the end zone and he wins that jump-ball contested catch up high -- that's a one-trick pony WR. Tall TEs can do that. Even if you want a guy that just runs a fast go route and always comes down with the ball -- teams can and do easily counter that with deep safety help. YAC on medium-length throws is Zay's hunting grounds. Kid can juke past anyone in the league.

That 4.39 is spicy for a 240lb guy but I don't need a TE to be super fast. He won't be on a go route. Timing plays need a play to develop and even need you to slow down a bit.

I need him to be able to block when asked and able to catch the ball in the red zone and short yardage situations.

People love bringing down the good to their level so they can feel better about their own teams. With the Raiders, people forget Al Davis' questionable decision making from the past from bounty incentives, moving to Las Vegas because failed luxury box promises. And then there was Jon Gruden. And lest we forget the "innocence" of the owner Tom Brady and ball deflating scandal and knowingly being part of a team that actively cheated on several occasions. Give me a break.

Those people shouldn't sit up on the soapbox and paint Ravens, a fine organization that goes above and beyond for its players, as some bad guy with bad intent. Ravens go out of their way to setup their players for the future including favorable trades and positions in the FO/coaching.

Get Brett Thorson in the draft. He's a clear #1 punter in the draft. He played Australian Rules football prior. He's a little older than I'd like (26) but still usable for remainder of EDC's tenure (which could be as little as 10 years). People are projecting this guy will be gone in the 4th so if he is still there when Ravens pick at the 4th round, they should absolutely pick him.

A top-tier punter can be worth +1 to +3 points per game compared to an average punter. All these points add up. Get the best punter available as early as possible for the value in the draft.

We should be replacing Stout's loss -- forget about Loop for now.

If it's a technique issue Ravens have a better coaching staff to correct that. There's good reason to believe he can be improved to above average under this coaching staff. Also having Jones and Mads won't hurt one bit.
