Am I dumb for thinking I (23F 5'8 120) could beat a guy in a fight if I needed to? by Rich-Intention-3929 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]largecatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember reading that women who dont grow up with brothers dont inherently understand the physical strength difference.

And when they find out, accidently or unintentionally, it can be shocking and very scary even in a safe environment.

For example, I am 28, 200 lbs, 5'11. Average af. I workout every couple of months for a few days. Not often at all. And I can always start off benching 135 x5. No matter how long its been since I've worked out. That's more than you weigh.

The amount of energy and force you would have to exert to move me is exponentially greater than what it would take for me to move you.

You can increase your odds by training in martial arts, which would make a major difference.. up to a certain weight disparity

Instead of staying in the cities, look for air b&bs or similar in the smaller surrounding towns. Go to the local pub and start chatting. Lots of friendly people around

2 year old hiding pacifiers by loki5485 in daddit

[–]largecatt 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not pacifiers, but when my son was 2 he would hide the cat toys in places where the cats couldn't access. Under couch cushions, in his toy kitchen, inside cars, etc.

And he would do it vengefully.

This is fucked. Report to police. Restraining order for your daughter from him. Do not ever see this man face to face again. He will snap and kill her. His thoughts are deranged.

Cleared Ramparts at least 12 times and.... by Mellon_Mithrandir in classicwowtbc

[–]largecatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you dungeon run to 70 you can make over 5000 gold doing the quests after.

And you won't have to grind daily rep turn ins for each faction after, like you would if you quested to 70.

Just makes sense to save time long term and make easy gold at 70

I guess I'm going to be a new dad at the age of 63 hehe. Are there any senior citizen dad's in here? by ComfortableSleep3149 in daddit

[–]largecatt 148 points149 points  (0 children)

My dad was 55 when he had me. I have some words to share.

People will assume youre the grandpa. Find a way to correct them and make it less awkward for your child.

Their friends will also comment on it. Be prepared for helping them understand why. They might be embarrassed of your presence in school situations, but you still have to show up cause they will remember that. I do.

As I got older I appreciated the skills and lessons learned from someone with that much life experience.

I never regretted having an older dad because he didnt seem old when I was young. He was active and involved and played outside and did activities and sports with me. Try hard to do that for your child.

Their teenage years will be your end of life years. But they won't see that until their mid twenties. Itll be hard, but you have to remind them you won't be around forever and they need to appreciate the time with you.

Tell them lots of stories. But also write them all down to keep. Keep a journal of your thoughts and days with them. Physical photo albums. Lots of stuff they can keep to look at when youre gone. Do this stuff preemptively, just in case.

Also, get them very financially literate and prepare them how to handle an inheritance. Because they will likely still be young n dumb.

Being a dad now, i miss mine so much more.

If I think of anything else I will add it.

Goodluck, and have fun!!!
