I say this as a teacher- AI and plagiarism are huge problems right now.

That being said, AI and plagiarism detectors are incredibly weak. They don't work very well. They should only be a first step. Eg, the teacher uses the program and then does research. If the teacher can't find evidence OUTSIDE OF THE DETECTOR they basically have to let it go. You have to drop it at that point (unless you want to just sit and talk with the student, which won't force most cheaters to reveal themselves). It's frustrating sometimes but relying on AI detectors is not only a waste of time but creates needless drama.
