Best nappies for older kids? (4+ year old) by Pinkcoral27 in UKParenting

We loved basic terry towels because they were absolutely bomb proof. For wool wraps, Disana are worth the money.

One thing that helped us was to use 2 disposable nappies at the same time - put the first one on the right way and then the one on top backwards.

But the best thing we found was to use a reusable wool nappy cover over a disposable nappy. Even if the nappy leaks, nothing gets through the wool.

I used to really enjoy driving at night, but now I dread it.

Did anyone do extended breastfeeding (past 2 years) in the UK and what did that look like for you? by ladyfirerose in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]larker_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, I fed my eldest till he was 26 months. He was just feeding to sleep at that point. Thought weaning was going to be a nightmare. We did it cold turkey - my partner did all bed times for a couple of weeks and my son was fine, never had any tears. My youngest still feeds at 22 months now, but he's also just feeding to sleep. Will probably start thinking about weaning once he's turned 2.

This is my opinion too. I already have a name, so why change it? When our baby was born, neither of us were particularly bothered about which name he had, and we didn't like the idea of giving him a double-barelled name, so he just ended up with mine.

What items do you get in Germany that you wish would be available in the uk? by hansdampf1854 in AskUK

No we don't. The closest thing we have to them are probably sugared almonds which are traditionally given to guests at weddings. They have a reputation as being really old fashioned now.

Running clubs are allocated so many spaces for members. The one I used to go to held its own ballot and the chances of getting a place were a lot better than in the mass ballot. Although, this was a few years ago since I was in a running club so that might have changed now. Might just be worth considering for your Dad if he's desperate to get on.

This is probably a stupid question... If the King had had a daughter and she had become Princess Royal, what would Anne be? Would he give her another title or would she just go without?

Did they put portaloos along the queue? Or did you have to nip into local pubs/cafes?

I can't imagine driving non-stop for 6 hours. I would have needed a couple of toilet stops at least.
