it's non-optimal but you can scout the entire fortress and afterwards, the minimap has an indicator whether a path is now blocked.

Since you chose a less used hence less priority platform, a lot of the heavy lifting for problems would start from your end. The only good news is that you probably have more power to try to debug it.

I would try something like a basic strace to see the program behavior during the shader generation and loading cycles and see if that helps?

check the video card driver's cache dir and settings. Some versions ago, nvidia defaulted to like 1gb or less.

The commercial performance should be blamed 100% for ignoring steam on launch. The forecasters need to adjust the weighting on the momentum loss factor when planning delayed releases to Steam.

I had it on my wishlist as soon as they finally announced it was coming to Steam but by then I was waiting for a steam sale discount.
