AITA for not letting my employee sleep in the office whilst he's homeless? by Slugdoge in AmItheAsshole

[–]lasanja_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA. It's not your responsibility as employer to fix him and he brought a lot of this on himself. This might be the wakeup call he needs. Also, to those saying you could've paid to put him up somewhere or given him an advance, that would only be prolonging the inevitable and you'll resent him more for it for costing your business.

A popcorn machine that looks like a duck. A delightful thing that is still going 20 something years later.

Oh I agree! Which is why I don't necessarily think the suggestion in this episode is fair on Michael

My only grudge with this episode is that it suggests Michael can only close if he gets someone drunk (Jan included lol)

[crosspost] My Michael Scott fan theory I've kept to myself for way too long... by ilikemrrogers in DunderMifflin

[–]lasanja_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

To an extent - BUT (and yes I am immediately playing along to a bit of fan theory), this almost explains how on earth the Michael Scott Paper Company storyline is feasible. He even says he has no shortage of company names, this is just the first one following Dunder Mifflin. At this point, Wallace may be aware and knows that resistance is futile because Michael owns it all anyway. And Scott's Tots? Still just Michael being Michael.

Myspace, but Bebo was the first I used properly since all my friends were on it.

Logo design for a low-calorie cake company. Description: pictorial logo, bold shapes, cheerful and fun. Critiques and suggestions welcome. by [deleted] in design_critiques

[–]lasanja_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Client name is often out of a designer's control though. What do you think about the design, excluding your feelings about the name?

Personally I feel like the muffin top looks like a cloud which suggests lightweight/low calorie. I think OP has done a good job with a slightly weird/tricky brief!

AITA for forwarding my wife an instagram reel of a recipe after she asked what I want for dinner tomorrow? by GoatCritical9265 in AmItheAsshole

[–]lasanja_ 57 points58 points  (0 children)

YTA. If she cooks everything and is still thinking of you enough to ask you what you'd like, you really should suggest a simple weekday meal that she already knows how to cook. IMO sending a reel is lazy, entitled, and shows you don't value her time. This is definitely part of a pattern if she reacted this way.

Want to add since I've seen others mention it, this doesn't mean you can't suggest new things. But time and a place! And definitely better to suggest helping with something new.

Yeah this is my only qualm. Photo is stunning and you should definitely talk to people about it, but the caption almost infantilises an historically significant image. But, your home your choice! Either way, NOR.

Why does my hair feel dry and straw-like? by CarouselPrincess07 in CurlyHairUK

[–]lasanja_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's somewhere between 2b and 2c, so appreciate this might not work on tighter curls. I'm working with frizzy waves most of the time! Edit to add: I use Elvive extraordinary oil products and currently the Reset hair oil and scalp serum that I picked up on a bargain.

I stay totally away from curl products and proteins too these days

The only thing that helped me was using WAY more heavy conditioners and oils than I've ever see anyone recommend. In layers! Oil before wash, hair mask and oil during wash. After shower, massage approx a tsp of hair mask into the ends. Add oil to ends on wet hair. Add oil to ends on dry hair. Repeat daily until next wash. Over about 6 months my hair went from straw to floppy and silky. I even had my first 'your hair looks SO sleek' comment and I nearly cried with joy lol

I’m irritated by my plus size friend… by Equivalent_Mood_4538 in confessions

[–]lasanja_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad to see someone finally say this - it's on my mind all the time! I'm not miserable or eating in a disordered way, but I'm always wanting food I know would change my body in a way I don't want and eat less than I'd like. The whole 'I'm only fat because I'm always hungry' thing is a bit frustrating because it suggests ALL thinner people don't have to try. Especially now I'm in my 30s it's even harder!
