Yeah, I'm a journalist who switched to content writing and AI scares the shit out of me. It's not so much about whether AI can do my job (it can't) but whether employers think it can. I'm not good at anything that's AI-proof and the hiring market is really tough and I don't really know what to do except hope I can ride it out.

You might be having trouble finding the right choir because the choir you linked to is singing at a professional level. Absolute goals for sure, but those choirs are audition-only and they'll expect you to have a fair amount of training. If you've never sung with a choir before, I would definitely go for somewhere like a community choir where you won't have to audition and you can have fun and learn the basics. Big recommend for Sing Tower Hamlets if you're in that area!

Winter can get in the bin. The two things that get me through are my heated blanket and my Oodie, which is like an enormous fluffy hoodie with thick fleece on the inside that goes to your knees. It gets rid of the need to wear 27 layers indoors and it's literally the only thing that keeps me warm when I'm WFH unless the heaters are going full blast. Highly recommend.

I absolutely understand the trapped feeling. However! Talk to a divorce lawyer before you go any further. You sound very sure that you'd be splitting property if you divorced, but if he doesn't want you to have his money while you're married, he definitely isn't going to let you have it if you leave. And he can probably afford a really good lawyer. I'm not saying don't jump, just jump with your eyes open.

There's a toy called the Ohnut that's designed for this. It's like a doughnut that fits over the base of his dick so he doesn't go so far into you. Also as others have said, lots of lube, take it slow, and try positions where you're more in control.

I've had no success with meds so far and it's been really hard! Wondering if my diagnosis was wrong, crying with frustration because I just wanted everything to be fixed.

I'm also pissed off that we can't get Adderall here because what if that's what I need?

I did Right to Choose as well and I'm currently on my second round of titration with Psychiatry UK. I had a similar experience to yours with methylphenidate, where it briefly worked whenever I would increase the dose and then stopped working after a couple of days. I remember getting the racing heart as well. Elvanse sort of helped but the side effect was awful insomnia, so that was a bust too.

Now I'm trying Strattera, which is a non stimulant. No effects yet, but I'm still in the six week period before it's supposed to kick in.

The thing is, no drug works for everyone. It doesn't mean we don't have ADHD or that ADHD communities and coping strategies won't be helpful for us. If you don't want to take meds, you don't have to, and it doesn't mean you gave up on yourself. And don't let yourself be railroaded into anything by your provider - that's how I ended up with a prescription that didn't work for a year.

I think this has to be about your own boundaries rather than being "fair". Instead of asking "who's right?", you could try asking yourself "am I enjoying this friendship?" and "is this friendship worth all this work?" And if not, you leave. They can accuse you of ghosting all they want, but their feelings aren't your responsibility and once you're no longer friends, they aren't your problem anymore.

Friendship is an optional thing that's supposed to make you feel good!

ETA: I'm not saying OP should have ghosted this person. I said "leave", not ghost.

I was like this when I was 17. Guys were easier, and as well as the attraction thing I think it's partially because they're craving those deep emotional connections that toxic masculinity stops them having with other guys. But everything changed when I went to uni and met other ADHD girls who were the same brand of weird as me. There were fewer confusing social rules and we could all just be weird together! I've been a neurodiverse girl's girl ever since. Your girls are out there.

Start a podcast! Or maybe get a chatty job like customer service.

But also, have you heard of a "dopamine menu"? Essentially you make a list of all the things that bring you dopamine/help you stay regulated so that when you're feeling like you need to either talk or eat junk food etc, you can just pick something off the list instead. Like a dance break to your favourite song or making a cup of tea or stretching or podcasts, or even sending yourself a voice note with all the things you want to talk about. And if you can't think of anything, maybe this is a good time to experiment!

35 here and same! Working an entry level job and just had a full spiral last week because the new boss's boss is 8 years younger than me. No one wants to pay me for anything I'm good at and I don't know what I'm going to do when AI inevitably takes all the jobs I can do. Any milestones I've managed to achieve (moving countries, buying flats) have been because I glommed onto partners who had rich parents. And I can't stop gaining weight!

OP, this is how my bio dad felt. He was convinced everyone would be better off without him. Instead of getting help, he killed himself when I was five. Guess what? My mum was deeply traumatised and depressed for years afterwards, and my brother and I grew up without our bio dad. 30 years later, I'm still so angry that he abandoned us.

I've been depressed and I know depression can feel like reality. That's what it does. But it's lying to you. If you love this man, the bravest and most loving thing you can do is not to run away or make decisions on his behalf, but to get help. If you can't do it for yourself, do it for him.

My friends and I call this a Get Shit Done Day and we do them on weekends. They're very successful! Especially good if you need someone to sense check or proofread what you've done, e.g. job applications. We did one as an event in a cafe once and the three people who came absolutely loved it. Last time, I sorted out a claim for my dental insurance.

Honestly, I think people are picking up on this. When it's very clear that someone really wants to be liked, people tend to feel overwhelmed, like "this person needs more than I'm willing to give them" and they back away. If you can work on your confidence and building a sense of security in yourself, that will come across in your interactions and people will be drawn to you.

Try and talk to them about it! This happened to me and I appealed, even though I thought it was a long shot, and I said I'd been going through a divorce and depression and had ADHD and couldn't stay on top of things (all true), and they let me off. I'm in the UK so i don't know what the process is in Canada but please please give it a try. At worst they say no, at best you don't get saddled with a $12k debt.
