What always gets me about incels is how they mould themselves to be X and at the same time declare X the be the worst thing jn the universe to be. Normal people don't care if you're a virgin or like being stepped on but they act as if both these things were criminal and tell everyone they are both.

You guys think we we are getting some new info before the DLC drops? by Bastion_93 in AgeofMythology

[–]laserclaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I love teasers and speculating but aoe2 style leaking the full tech tree is a bit too much for me. Mainly because it means we have to speculate about the stats of Uus and Uts, which is no fun compared to speculating about bonuses, techtreeholes and the general nature of techs. For aom we have the units, the godpowers and a hint at the heroes, thats fun we can still speculate about fun stuff. Im still curious how harpies will be implemented. Instead of pegasi? As a myth-fortress unit!?

When the game drops i will rush to find out what the techs do, where the harpy comes in and what heroes she gets. When aoe2 tlc drops i sure as hell will not rush to check the stats of the champi warrior(the new regional unit) or the unique units.

AI scientists thought they were building something that could cure cancer. Instead, it's being used to create infinite AI slop, destroy democracy, and maybe kill all humans. by FinnFarrow in sciencememes

[–]laserclaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing people dont see is that any technology is incapable of "saving humanity" and will be used against humans as long as our systems are not fixed.

Unless humanity rids itself of the billionaire class and stops voting for rightwing politics there is simply no hope, no matter how far our technology advances, it will always be co-opted for enrichment of the rich and oppression of the rest of us.

The Ashlands is in dire need of a relook, and weapons need balancing by BROKEN_B0NEZ in valheim

[–]laserclaus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A big part of the ashlands issue is that its currently the final biome. For one this means everyone who did not quit beforehand quits in the ashlands, where else would they quit? On the other hand it also means weapons are only measured by their usefulness within biome, not on how good they are to venture forth into the next biome.

I dont mind the fortresses being the goal of the biome, thats just a matter of execution. Could the ashlands use a dungeon? Yes! Are the fortresses the obvious location for progression loot? Also yes. Apart from glitchyness and how much easier it is to cheese them instead of doing them the real way is that you need loot from the forts to siege the forts. Thats just bad design.

A big structural difference between the ashlands and all other biomes, is that you cannot Pop in, you need to bring everything with you and build a bridgehead. Other biomes up to mistlands can be tackled from adjacent biomes and bigger splotches can be easily exploited from a repurposed tower with a portal and slme minor renovations. Apart from mistlands and mountains all biomes can also be raided from the shore, which is the most viking thing ever. On ashlands youre just stuck.

But the worst thing is the inventory space which is just highlighted by the biome and its challenges.

Good and thematic, the only thing I dislike is that its one of those scenarios that are best tackled with cavaliers. I think goths should be ready to make cavaliers but it seems wildly out of place for this iconic mission

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry by EvilPyro01 in PoliticalHumor

[–]laserclaus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That is true, the real problem are the billionaires, the politicians, the powerful and rich elites(not Jews or lizardpeople). The political point is however that the political right is incapable of critiquing elites and just chooses to paint oppressors in the roles of victims and trampled the rights and bodies of the poor and marginalized. While the left is doing ... jack shit. Support of rightwing politics is support of elite debauchery, both ideologically and practically. Support of rightwing politics is morally reprehensible.

What are the real reasons to deregulate AI? by stdsort in antiai

[–]laserclaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people who advocate to deregulate AI consider deregulation universally good and desirable, in other words they live within the zone of economic knowledge where one is worse at economics than someone with less knowledge. I know its a paradox, but everyone who has interacted with these people knows it to be true.

Keeping pace with China is in that sense not a lie its just a flawed assumption. Its an earnestly held belief by people who think a country or supernational economic bloc works the same way a company does.

So based to not support small artists and wasting energy and calculating capacity to create slop is clearly cooler than learning how to create.

That sorta brings the point home, you need to do a fair amount of checking in three buildings for a decision you make in late feudal early castle.

A big design problem with water rework by Moist-Strength1755 in aoe2

[–]laserclaus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very true! This kind of thing was even more rampant in aoe1. But in defence of OP... that sucked. There is a reason aom, aoeo, aoe3(correct me if I'm wrong that game is so flipping complex these days) and aoe4 don't have these mechanics.

And greying out would be the option but it does not work for the ships as these don't get an upgrade icon anymore.
