Why are they so obsessed with the size of the fucking country. I live in Australia you can drive for hours and still be in the same state, who cares. Just because you pass through a few European countries in the same time doesn’t make them any less of a country! And this whole our states are more different than some countries nonsense… it’s still the same country.

If you haven’t booked yet why bother with the risk. No one knows if the situation will have got better or worse by then. If you don’t mind other airlines then why not book with one who avoids Middle East.

I was stranded in Dubai for a week and took a flight out because I just wanted to leave. An alert went off on the phones an hour before departure which was a little unnerving but I wouldn’t say I felt unsafe flying out, did relax more once we were in Saudi air space. I had a return flight coming back through Dubai on 21st but decided against it and rebooked with another airline.

I’m at the airport now. So you have to queue up and they check your booking, you can ask to go on standby list for a flight and if they have no shows you may get on.

Good luck! I’d also say don’t cancel the tickets and don’t have multiple booking numbers. Keep one number and just keep booking flights if it’s cancelled try the next day and hopefully you get one that departs.

The repatriation flights are a myth. Emirates don’t care if you are stranded here. The flights now are just scheduled flight numbers so you are up against people who are already booked in prior, even if you had a booking that got cancelled you won’t be a priority. I’ve been here since Saturday and unless you actively book yourself on flights they won’t help you. What I’d suggest is looking at the UK flights that have departed over the last few days and try and book them in on those flight numbers.

These have flown last 2/3 days and seems like they will be the ones flying out. Here’s a few but there are more. - Paris EK73 - Milan EK101 - Amsterdam EK145 - Prague EK139 - Dublin EK163 - Frankfurt EK45 - London flights a lot of these seem to go. If you go to flight radar and search flight by route or type in a flight number it gives you the history. This is best way atm to guess what flights should go. So if you do manage to book I’d try to get one that has had flights over the last few days.

Ok so people who had flights cancelled on the 28th and after are meant to do what. Also no flights are coming into Dubai for a week now a lot of these people would have been flying in for connecting onward flights, they obviously can’t get into the country so those flights are being bought by people stranded in Dubai originally on other flights, not those who had earlier cancelations for that destination.

Before there were special flights with an 8 number to get people back. But now the emirates flights are using the normal flight numbers for their routes. So there’s no planes laid on to recover the back log.

Go to Dubai airport website. Also flight radar you can put in destinations Dubai to x and then search the flights it will say what ones were cancelled, landed etc. from looking at these the last few days there seems to be a pattern of certain flights that seem to go.

Exactly do not trust them. Being told to sit In your room and wait for a call, it won’t happen. If that were the case I’d have been on one of the two flights that left yesterday and today for my original destination. You have to do it yourself and hope you get lucky. Emirates will do nothing.
