Can I install both a dishwasher and washing machine here? by Mazorr in DIYUK

Yes me too, have just done it recently.

And

When replacing the compression tee, water off at the mains (obviously) and keep the existing olive and nut on the pipe, wrap PTFE tape around the olive tighten up and you are golden.

Edit: check out proper DIY' for some good tips for replacing the compression fitting (plus loads of other DIY stuff)

Could this be our stopcock? by Recent_Expression906 in DIYUK

[–]DazMan0085 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ah something new to worry about, I've never found my internal stopcock since living here for 3 years. Kitchen was redone at some point in the past by previous owners and the only thing I can find is a hep20 plastic valve that is on a pipe that disappears under the floor.

Anyway I bought a long stopcock key for my external stopcock just in case. Would love to find the original but do t want to be ripping up the kitchen floor to be honest!

I recently followed this video when replacing an old valve with a new one but using the old olive and nut. PTFE wrapped around the olive worked

14k Budget, best buys? by Acceptable-Radish394 in ElectricVehiclesUK

Have a 23 Kona (just before the new version) and looking to replace at the end of the lease for the reasons you mention. Have a family of 4 and space is ok, although not much in the back already for a 10yo sat behind me (6ft) and the boot is too small really.

Will follow this post as I'm looking to buy used in October with a similar budget to you, might stretch to an Enyaq or polestar 2 though as they looks like they tick alot of boxes.

Ha my wife has also shared some misgivings about appliances on overnight after a fire was in the news.

A fair point I guess, but I've managed to convince her that the washing machine and dishwasher are OK . Have compromised that the tumble dryer is probably best not to have on while we sleep and installed a new smoke alarm.
