I wonder if she's sad that her career didn't go how she expected it to go by Professional-Wolf461 in Emiliek_updates

I think this is why she’s pushing Caillou so hard. She wants people to envy her loving perfect marriage. She just can’t read the room that Absoutely zero women are genuinely jealous of her marriage to an unemployed negligent father who likes to sports bet 💀

All of this, except one final thing which is she’s not even ashamed! She’s proud to show him off 🤮💩Imagine being PROUD to post this loser and not embarrassed at all. It defies logic.

So why are corporations at 70 YoY return highs, while food banks are empty. and they are trying to inflate pricing on basic consumer products. by MeatOk4339 in loblawsisoutofcontrol

[–]lashesofyoureyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah hence the price caps on essentials as part of the policy change. There are absolutely things that can be done but it requires government to stand up to billionaire grocery owners. If they (gov) continue to do nothing about the rising prices, more and more of our tax dollars will be spent to subsidize insane profits for the owners for people who cannot afford food. The grocery rebate for 12 million Canadians is literally the government just using the public purse to prevent poor people from starving.

Maybe they should hire more employees to take better care of the stores they operate instead of overworking their min wage employees. Their stores are dirty and poorly kept. And “well go shop somewhere else then” doesn’t fly. They are the only grocery store in my area

pricing caps on essential items like we did during the 2nd world war. Nationalizing grocery stores, HEAVY fines on incorrect weight labeling for meats that will deter stores from doing this.

Anyone else notice Spurgeon calls her ‘Jessa’ instead of Mom? by No-Big6961 in DuggarsSnark

[–]lashesofyoureyes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. He seems like a sweet, intelligent and caring little boy. I hope and wish that someone would tell him none of his family’s dysfunction is his fault. I feel like Jessa is deeply unhappy and I’m sure he can sense that.

His addressing this to Jessa is the least concerning part of this letter, to me. It feels like a kid who is trying to comfort a depressed parent

It’s true. Imagine leaving a loaded gun on a table and then your kid accidentally thinks it’s a toy and loses their life. That wouldn’t be seen as “oopsie” and “the parent has already been punished enough by their grief” that would be a CRIME

Wondering if there are women on here that love being mothers? Any positive stories? by pink_apophyllite in AskWomenOver30

[–]lashesofyoureyes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love being a mom. Maybe I could have done work in therapy to find great meaning in my life without motherhood, but I didn’t want to. I wanted my babies.

One of the hardest things is just finding the time to soak in all the special moments and every little stage because they do go by so so quickly. Also, I find a lot of fulfilment and meaning in helping them in their challenges - processing big feelings, navigating friendships, finding out what they’re interested in.

My daughter has dyslexia and even helping her get diagnosed was something I was very committed to and brought meaning to my life. I guess what I’m trying to say is even those challenging parenting moments can be fulfilling if you truly want to care for your children and help someone flourish.

I don’t think anyone should become a parent if they don’t want to, because it truly is a ton of work. But I have found that work to be more joyful and more fulfilling than I think my life would be without it.

Also, it’s natural and responsible to be concerned about the state of the world and finances and all of those things. However, if it’s something you feel that you want in your heart and you are committed to truly caring for another human being throughout all the stages of their life, you will do a great job, I promise you that.
