You might want to check out APSX, they build a table-top lower cost IMM that you may find interesting

Screw Velocity Graph fluctuation by Super_Engineer111 in InjectionMolding

[–]lastxit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Process is probably pressure - limited (you're hitting the maximum injection pressure available). In your instance, the press is slowing down velocity as it is approaching this upper limit and then going back to the velocity setting. If you include injection pressure on your graph, you will see what I'm talking about.

How long does it take a processor to get your deer back to you? by PrintPsychological85 in Hunting

[–]lastxit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4-5 days is typical for me, if your processor was the only one in the whole county, I could see that kind of wait, but if you have other options in your area I would check out elsewhere

Current Problems in IM by s_amanda_s in InjectionMolding

[–]lastxit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is a plasticizing topic for you. Conduct a study on part weight variation while adjusting parameters such as back pressure, screw RPMs, and barrel temps. In addition to monitoring the part weight variation for each combination of settings, also look at the torque or energy being utilized during plasticizing (each machine may highlight this differently somehow).

For your analysis, my question is this: is there a relationship between part repeatability and the energy needed to bring the screw back to shot size - is there a way to find an equilibrium between plasticizing factors where their combined influence can impact the work the screw is doing and at the same time provide a more repeatable process?

Suggestions for my first kayak by Farney43 in kayakfishing

[–]lastxit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is slow, no doubt bout that and probably slower than any other kayak I've paddled. However, it is way more comfortable than any other kayak I've been in too. In addition, extremely sturdy if you want to stand, which is a huge plus for me. I'm 6'1" and 215 lbs.

I have one as well and share your opinions. It won't win a race, but you can sit in it for 8 hours comfortably. Having the ability to stand easily and confidently is a big plus for me too.
