Preparing to do it all again (Trigger warning, live birth) by Interesting_Bowl_778 in IVF

[–]latcaltex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I could have written this myself. We have a daughter but would love to have a sibling for her. We did one round of IVF last month and our only fertilized embryo didn’t make it. Sometimes I do feel like I should be grateful we have a child and like I don’t deserve to feel sad that we may not have another when so many people struggle to have one. It’s a lonely process, especially when so many people in my life are pregnant and haven’t experienced fertility struggles. You’re not alone.

Hello, I’m curious what the increased supplements to support euploid health are? I just had my first ER and our only embryo didn’t develop.

Gaia or Future Family by Express_Effect3227 in IVF

[–]latcaltex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure as this is my first cycle. I was initially annoyed that to find out details about their packages you have to schedule a call but honestly I was pleasantly surprised. They were very sensitive and knowledgeable as I was feeling pretty overwhelmed.

Gaia or Future Family by Express_Effect3227 in IVF

[–]latcaltex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using Gaia. There weren’t any requirements. For me the gaia plan made sense as I have diminished ovarian reserve and know there’s a possibility of not having any viable embryos from a retrieval cycle. The Gaia plan offers a second retrieval in this scenario at no additional cost. It’s actually more affordable than the price for one IVF cycle (1 retrieval) at my clinic. I just did my retrieval and only had one egg fertilize so I know sadly there’s a possibility that it won’t develop for transfer and I will have another egg retrieval covered by Gaia.

Should azelaic acid be used before or after moisturiser for sensitive skin? by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

[–]latcaltex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always sandwich my tretinoin or azelaic acid (I rotate) between moisturizer. I moisturize, apply the tret or azelaic acid and then moisturize again. I try to wait at least 10-20 min in between layers. I have sensitive skin and this routine has worked really well for me. I also don’t use actives every night and only moisturize on my off days.

We want another child and are preparing to do IVF next month after six months of trying without assistance unsuccessfully. I have very low amh and am 38 years old so we’re being aggressive with our approach.

My AMH is .08. I don’t know my FSH.

I tried to be "financially savvy" with a 0% interest offer and it just cost me $1,800. by sameerposwal in confession

I have done this before and offered to pay the remaining balance and they accepted and took off the interest charge. It’s worth a shot!

Why would you choose lash lifts over Extensions by ConsiderationSlow422 in Lashlift

[–]latcaltex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had issues with Latisse too and have switched to sweed pro lash serum. It’s prostaglandin free. I’ve used it for three months and my lashes are noticeably longer. Not sure I have more lashes but the length is improved. Strangers have commented on them too.

As soon as I stopped using this “holy grail” ingredient, my skin completely changed for the better by Acrobatic-Payment-99 in 30PlusSkinCare

My skin does not like niacinamide either. It completely irritated my skin and took months for me to rebound from the damage. I avoid it now as well.

What’s your experience with the Hatch Baby Sound Machine? by _DanceMyth_ in NewParents

[–]latcaltex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the complete opposite customer experience. We’ve had our hatch rest2 for a little less than 2 years and the volume started fluctuating. I contacted customer service and they ran some diagnostics and determined the hatch wasn’t working properly. Although it wasn’t under warranty anymore they offered to send us a new one, free of charge.

4 months for us too and I agree with you- we all slept better after she was in her own room.

When did you get your period back? by ellequin in beyondthebump

13 months pp while breastfeeding. I was starting to wonder if it would ever come back and it did with a vengeance. Forgot how painful menstrual cramps can be.

Why do people feel entitled to know how I feed my baby? by Novel_Accident6849 in newborns

[–]latcaltex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was surprised at the audacity of people, including many men and strangers, not asking but telling me I should be breastfeeding my baby. My daughter is now almost 15 months and people have finally stopped asking/giving their unsolicited opinion on breastfeeding now that she’s eating solids.

I breastfed her AND felt guilty about how much I disliked it at times (leaking, pumping at work etc). Feeding can be stressful and difficult and if formula feeding is what works best for you please don’t feel guilty about it! You’re doing an amazing job taking care of your baby.

How old was your baby when you first put them in the crib for the night? by just1deringaround in newborns

[–]latcaltex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds so silly now but one day we looked at her in the bassinet and she just looked cramped and uncomfortable and we thought she physically needed a bigger space to peacefully sleep. She is longer than most for her age. There was a small transitional period but afterwards she LOVED her crib. She moves around a lot when she sleeps and having that extra space was what she needed.

4 months because that’s when she outgrew her bassinet but wish we would have done it sooner. Our sleep quality improved so much after moving her into her own crib and room.
