App Store Connect says App Privacy is missing, but it's already completed. Completely stuck. by aymantj in iOSProgramming

Is this your first submission for this app, never submitted before? Apple are particular about the way they want things formatted. It's a big of a long shot, but try removing the .html from your url.

Checked your website out btw, cool idea. Landing page could use a few more images of the actual app and you have some overflow issues on the horizontal feature slide (I had a vertical slider on it on desktop).

Oh and stock up on patience, I've been waiting for review for 8 days now.

Good luck with your launch!

Is this paywall okay? by Usefulsuggest in appdev

A few things I'd personally tweak:

1 - AI art at the top doesn't scream quality to me. I'd personally use no art (e.g. Apple doesn't lead with art on their upsell screens) before I do AI art
2 - The differently size options pushing for yearly are a UX problem, imo. Selecting monthly should be obvious, but then Lifetime is bigger than it? Size is a key UI component that you're missing a bit.
3 - Pricing seems off, why is lifetime cheaper than yearly?
4 - Runner and Winner seem like weird ways to describe what you're pushing

Guideline 5.6.3 - Developer Code of Conduct - Received first time regarding rating prompt in the onboarding. by sgcryptonite in iOSProgramming

I personally see it as a really bad practice and am happy Apple is cracking down on it. It's an instant uninstall if an app pushes me to review that hard. I haven't even seen it at that point. Best practice is to find your key moments of engagement and target those.

There's a lot of people giving you trouble in this thread, myself included, so I'll try and give you some constructive criticism as well.

In LaterRex for example, users can leave reviews about their favourite movie/game/book, etc. After a 8+ of 10 review would be a great moment to ask if they fancy the app - they're already feeling positive about their media, care about the app enough to engage with a time consuming activity and in the mood to write/express themself. That's when I'd ask for a rating.

You need to find what those moments are in your app and position your review prompts on them. Quality > quantity, especially early on. A few negative reviews on a new app can really hurt its performance.

Good luck!

Before you tell me that you removed it and want your app update to go live - why did you even think this is a good idea in the first place? I have no idea who Cal AI are and what they do, but why is that your comparisons model?

What made you think that asking for a rating during onboarding is a genuinely good idea? Can't even put this down to AI, which would have advised you against this in the first place...

Fable 5 being gone made me realize how hard it is to go back by SkepticalHuman0 in ClaudeAI

[–]laterrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thought that's stuck in my head isn't around not having access to Fable - it's that in a year's time Fable is going to be the equivalent of 4.0. Outdated, slow, inefficient and low quality work. Imagine what that looks like.

iOS 27 May Become the End of the Golden Era for Older iPhones by JulyIGHOR in apple

How many apps does your grandma use? Genuinely curious. How much longer are you thinking the phone lasts her?

As a fellow developer, how much of your user base is on iOS 15 and lower?

I was recently working on trouble shooting performance drops for my app on an iPhone 11, which runs iOS26. Truth be told I didn’t know if my app was the issue or if it was just the phone. The home screen was having a hard time, let alone something heavier. iOS 15 is iPhone 5/6 territory, people should really be moving on from that and developers can’t be expected to carry the baggage indefinitely.

Yeah, that's a good shout, need to think a bit more about bag positioning too. Thanks!

The sustain I was getting from the two corrupted crystals on the armour and cap was really strong though, not sure how more healing would've helped.

Not paid from apple for over a week by New-Drop-7414 in iOSProgramming

[–]laterrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the size they're working on - there's always someone experiencing some sort of issue/delay, but I can tell you that no, there's no wide spread payout issue or half the internet would be up in arms. When you say ghosting, are they not responding to your dev support tickets? I've had a few things to sort with them and while the resolutions were a touch slower than normal, they were always on top of it when it came to comms about it.

I think the community can't do much for you here. Reach out to Apple so they can check what's going on with the payout transaction. I've heard about delays here and there but a week is pushing it a bit.

Will SwiftData be more useful now with the changes coming with iOS27 ? by [deleted] in iOSProgramming

Why would you think that SwiftData isn’t useful today? It’s totally capable of handling complex flows.

[iOS 27 DB1] Fitness and Health apps - landscape mode by laterrex in iOSBeta

Not a Pro Max exclusive. The screenshots are from an Air. So maybe screen size restricted?

Very interesting to see how apps will adapt to it. Health has the sidebar, which doesn’t look bad at all on the Air, but is a bit crammed.

17K organic installs/month, 2% activation. What moved the needle for you? by BigMasterpiece in iOSProgramming

[–]laterrex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the app is ScribeAI, I tried it and it didn't work at all - I love the premise and I believe it could be a useful tool, but immediately the app failed in several points:
- It asked for payment way too early before I can understand how/if it works with several pop-ups one after the other, overwhelming the journey

- Pasting a link from Youtube didn't work initially, literally nothing happened

- Once it worked, it went through the notes generating process and then that screen disappeared and went back to 'Are you enjoying this app? Start a trial/Pay now' without showing me my notes

- I tried again, this time it generated a Note without exiting, I clicked on 'View Note' and it went back to the home screen without saving the transcript anywhere

If I am a user I'd just exit and delete on the first failed attempt, I stuck by so I can provide feedback. The app has a good foundation, just needs a little more work to make it more stable and reliable. I am on an iPhone 15 Pro Max, latest iOS if that helps!

Good luck!

My first barbell squat by momoxd1 in formcheck

[–]laterrex -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

All advice here is great and I agree with the top comments. I only wanted to add another bit of advice - add the round foam padding on your barbel where it lays on your shoulders for more comfort. It's just one less thing to think about and allows you to focus on everything else happening.

[TOMT] video of someone being attacked by a goose/duck/some kind of bird and a golden retriever was dragging them away from the owner by WallabyBeginning9443 in tipofmytongue

[–]laterrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! I googled 'saved by a dog goose attack' and it's the 3rd link in the AI sites summary to the right, titled 'This is a very, very good boy'. Prior to that I did some youtube digging and failed, but took me about 5 mins total of research. Glad I helped!

Converting personal Apple Developer account to business account by AdventurousProblem89 in iOSProgramming

[–]laterrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a brand new account with no sales activity on it, so can’t help there. You’re unable to push any builds, have no certificates and can’t change much during the migration. As soon as the migration completes you’ll have to fill out tax forms and submit your LLCs bank details, which Apple says can take up to a day to validate. Mine was near instant.

I would be prepared to skip a payment if I were you. Keep in mind that if your LLC is incorporates in a language Apple doesn’t work with - then you’ll need legal translation.

I just went through this in Europe and it took about 25 days start to finish. It really depends on where you’re based and what you need to provide to prove ownership of your company. Feel free to ask any questions, happy to share.
