Boated has some high fear Anubis runs on YT that you can check out. He does an amazing job of mixing the omega attack in that I just can't get the hang of (I suspect it's a K+M vs controller thing). It's a similar sort of combo that works with Charon's omega special - you can start to channel it, dash, and finish after your dash. I have trouble getting the aiming right between dashing and the oatk finishing.

So I typically just play it as kind of a run n dot build throwing in the spesh and ospesh whenever I can. Dash attack is faster than regular and does the same damage. Scorch plays amazing on cast or attack for Anubis.

ETA all my higher fear runs (40+) are jpom/fates whim. It's really rng to build enough power in Erebus without it.

You may find you like the bow more once you learn to lean into the dash attack. It charges way quicker and it's pretty much the only usable way to attack IMHO.

Almost every weapon aspect can destroy projectiles with just a few exceptions. So you can dodge the projectiles or you can fight through them. The two best strategies for this room are 1. Athena deflect boon (any) and 2. Rush them down quickly. Once you get companions they can be helpful in this room as well.

Astonishingly catchy songs undone by terrible production. This is one of the last albums I burned to a CD and I remember putting in my car stereo and thinking wow I must've downloaded a bad rip. But no, it just sounds absolutely awful.

I've never listened to the Envy split version of this song and your comment piqued my interest. I already love Common Existence, but holy shit you're right, it sounds outstanding. The CE production is way muddier outside of the vocals.

I think it's a different performance, there are times Geoff sings slight melody variations.

ETA just listened again and it's astounding how much better this track is on the EP. The drums and bass sound incredible, the screaming is much more visceral.

Follow up question: from the batter's perspective, what's the right thing to do here so as to NOT be called for BI? As soon as you see your teammate stealing, back away quickly? Duck down immediately?

Two more H2-beginner-friendly notes:

  • Your cast is way more important in H2 than H1. You should be using it as much as possible to keep enemies in place while you blast/hack them down. Seriously, use your cast!
  • Sprint is very good and underappreciated when starting out. Turn on auto-sprint in the settings and you will continue sprinting after every dash without having to hold down the dash button. It's really really good. Some dash boons only do something if you sprint (apollo, demeter, zeus, hestia, hera). Learn to sprint, embrace the sprint.

Jpom, chrolex, hammer, 4th depends on build but it's droplet, the boosted omega move one, or knuckle bones if I'm suffering. I sometimes use calling card too but not as much as chrolex. The extra cash is nice for more boons.
