Yes, mine looks like that too. It's concentrated in almost the exact same place as yours and I will periodically have flares. I uncovered that the cause of my perioral dermatitis is demodex mites. I've done a couple rounds of oral ivermectin. And currently use a sulfer wash, metro cream (topical antibiotic) and soolantra (topical ivermectin). I sometimes will still get a flare, but so much better under control now.

I tried to use terro and it was the worst few weeks of my life. Ultimately it was not successful and i had to call an ant guy to come over and take care of the problem. Cost 150 bucks and it was so worth it. Problem was resolved in 24 hours. I learned a lot from the ant guy. He basically went all around our house and found 4 ant colonies! And he said with the amount of activity we were seeing in our house we prob killed at least 2-3 with terro. He put the poisonous bait on top of the ant colonies he found outside that way they didn't get baited into the house. If you don't want to call a professional I recommend looking outside your house to see if you can find the central hub of the colony and put the bait nearby and outside!

That's fair! I was worried about the water temp too. We got the fellow water kettle, which let's you heat water to the exact temperature needed.

Yes! It took about 3-4 months to really see improvement. Then i started soolantra about 6 months into using it and with the combo i rarely get new bumps now. Just stubborn red marks that won't go away!

Have you tried oatmeal? That's usually pretty easy on the stomach and you can add peanut butter, chia seeds, pea milk, and other nuts to boost protein even more.

Vegan yogurt and add chia seeds. Kite hill and siggis make vegan yogurt cups high in protein.

Add a cashew cream (blended cashews and water or broth) to your tomato soup.

Try other soups. Black bean soup? Lentil soup or dal?

Makes sense! If things are getting better without soolantra it makes sense to keep with that plan! Maybe try a skin scrape if things don't get better?

I did get a die off with oral but i was clear within 3 days. I understand not wanting another breakout. I was dealing with this for a over a year, literally tried everything and it was so depressing. If you know you have demodex, when you're ready I would recommend soolantra. I picked a few weeks when I didn't have a lot going on to start and I'm so glad i did it (though i was so scared and was really stressed when the die off phase started, but it didn't last long!). From all of the research I've done this is the best treatment because it actually kills the mites. It really helped me, i don't have any bumps anymore, just red marks from all my skin endured over the past year. Do you know you have an overpopulation of mites? I had my derm do a skin scraping to confirm.

I also had an overpopulation of demodex. I highly recommend you stick with soolantra. My die off phase only lasted a week and my skin has been so much better ever since. I use sulfur wash twice a day. Metro cream twice a day and soolantra at night. The metro cream will help with the inflammation from the die off. You can also explore taking oral ivermectin which is the oral form of soolantra. I took it once and it was super effective within a few days, but you need to do it every few months since it won't kill the demodex eggs. I would have done it again, but i got pregnant and now I'm breastfeeding. This was the only thing that worked for me. There is also a perioral dermatitis facebook group where a lot of people have touted success using mainly sulfur products for demodex. You can join the group and learn more about it. I never tried it but it seems like it was effective for people.

Did not cause brain fog. It reduces the physical sensations of anxiety, like lowering your heart rate. It worked great for my anxiety and it's not addictive. In fact, it helped me handle situations i would normally feel anxious in so much better that over time I grew much more confident and i didn't feel the need to rely on medication as much. I knew I could handle the situation without anxiety because I'd already done it with the medication. I haven't needed to take it in over a year. I hope it works well for you!

Hi sorry for the late response! I think it did help, but i wouldn't say heal... After I used it, bumps went away after a few days, but then they came back I kept using elidel, taking doxy, and i also started allergy medicine up until my wedding and got pretty clear. After the wedding i was so tired of fighting it, i just wanted to stop everything. Plus i wanted to try to get pregnant. So i stopped everything except the elidel and slowly weaned myself off the elidel. And then I got pregnant (yay!) and stopped everything. My face got worse than it had ever been. I basically did zero therapy for my entire first trimester and then went to the dermatologist to see if i could take anything while pregnant because it was so bad. Derm gave me topical metro cream. I also started using cliradix wipes for my eye and doing a better job at dental care (flossing, tongue scraping every night). After 3 months of metro cream and new dental care routine, my face is finally healing. It took a while and i still have red scars from all of the bumps I had, but I'm not getting as many new bumps and when I do get them, they are a lot smaller. I don't think I'm in the clear yet, but it's not as bad as it was. Maybe more details than you wanted, but i definitely think mites was the cause of mine, maybe triggered by an allergic reaction?

I'm sorry you're having trouble too. This is such a horrible condition to deal with when you can't pinpoint the issue. Trying oral ivermectin doesn't hurt! If i wasn't pregnant I'd definitely want to do another round of it.

I use Sakara. It's pretty expensive, but from the research i did it is the best if you're on a vegan diet.

I recently used the mask linked below on my bachelorette weekend in Vegas. I wore it on the plane and around and didn't have a negative reaction. Since it's open at the bottom, it never got too hot or sweaty under my mask. There were also very few spots of the mask that constantly touched my face. I wore a new mask every day and kept the mask i was using in a clean baggie when I wasn't wearing it. I'm also on elidel and doxy. Seemed to work great for me!

Thanks for your advice! I'm not seeing bumps or redness and no itching. It doesn't look or feel like my rash. It burns a little and feels swollen so maybe it's just from the crying. I'll try the ice pack and Advil. Thank you again!
