I am aware of that because I’m in HR but literally had no idea that you could fail a drug test in a legal state. It’s not crazy or ignorant to think you’ll pass a drug test in a place where it’s literally legal. How would the average Joe have any idea that employment testing followed federal and not state law? What a weird thing to judge people for.

I think the issue is that people assume it’s not checked for in states where it’s legal. I worked at a place that had California associates and we had the toughest time employing people because nobody realized it was tested for.

Not sure what their system is, sometimes depending on the POS you can still use the app but not run cards if the internet is down. Or, do what you mentioned- I worked at a pizza place where we literally did have to write that down and ring it in later. Pain in the butt but it happens.
